Thank you so much, Obsidian. Your channel keeps me up on what's going on in ED even when I'm off playing a different game for a little while. Your lore videos were great with getting me up to speed when I first started playing ED earlier this year, and this new series has been so great for helping me branch out into different aspects of the game that I hadn't really touched. I just purchased the Horizons Season Pass from the Microsoft Store where they doing a massive discount for Gold Membership if your using Xbox that is. Only £8 !! for Horizons. So in the menu go to 'Buy Game Extras' and then Microsoft Store to buy, but be quick this offer end midnight on 18th November 2018. Thanks for this tutorial, it's given me a great start on understanding what the Engineers do etc. I did transfer my Federal Dropship to the Wolf System but couldn't get to any High Extraction Sites with it due to it low jump range so imported my Cobra to the station. I got here all the way from Eravate using a Type 6 Transporter with added Fuel Tanks, 27 jumps in all and didn't need a fuel scoop at all. Now I'm here in the Wolf 397 system just need to find some good trade systems and Boom Data to rank up with Federation and the Alliance

good job obsidian ant. just one small, you seem to drop what you were saying quite randomly at times. an example around 26:00 you were talking about an upgrade, saying you got some good bits, as well as some hefty.... In short, do things that are beneficial for factions and you'll increase rank, and to "level up" you must do a specifically given mission (unless it's a small faction which will automatically "level up"), though if it doesn't appear don't worry as you don't need to "level up" to continue increasing your rank.

Ranking is rather simple just do missions for the people who represent that faction/superpower. Each system has its own factions and reputations so doing mostly combat missions in one system will only grant you access to better missions within that system but the rank for the faction will carry across to any system. Just because you are at Baron rank for example in the empire does not mean the station will give you Baron level missions unless the person giving the mission trusts you. Rank Progression missions on the other hand can be tricky to find and are honestly mostly random luck. Try and find a system that has a few stations and many npc's who represent your faction and designate that your Rank Mission system. Once you reach 100% progression for a rank there is a chance that a npc of that faction will offer you a mission to progress to another rank. You honestly just have to read the quest info and see if the reward is progression although sometimes they will have names like "Naval Ascension Opportunity"

unclosed When you pick up missions, on the right side of the bar keep an eye for the Faction logo, choosing those missions will help not only the local group but the main faction as well. also the main faction rank is a bi@^#ch of a grind :p. One more thing, even tho you hit 100% on the main Faction rank don't stop doing missions since percentages keep accumulating and it takes a while(24hrs or more) to update from "rank 1" 100% to "rank 2" 0%(or 30%/50%/100% since u keep doing missions and had that much extra "xp") Sorry for the wall of text but I hope this helps you

Correct, the higher your rep with a NPC faction in a system the higher the rewards they will pay out. Higher Combat Rank will also yield better paying combat/assassination missions whereas higher trading rank will increase the amount you get from smuggling/hauling requests ect. Your trade rank however has no effect on commodity price that is the same regardless for a novice pilot in a sidewinder or a elite trade conda.

In regards to the PS4 version I am sure this has been asked before, but not really knowing the difference between versions, I am really unsure how to go about researching it. Not knowing what to even look for... Anyway here is my question. What are the differences between the 'Normal' edition and the 'Deluxe'? Besides the obvious season pass I was told that you will miss out on key items that are kinda needed in order to explore. So not only is the Season pass grants access to added game play but also adds new ship tech and the ability to land on planets etc.. I have been told so many DIFFERENT things, I just want the skinny on what to expect from both versions.. Thanks

I've tried so many times but my pulse lasers or multicannons usually come out worse when engineering. Seems like outside of adding special effects I end up worse. Also power distributors seem better more well rounded than going for higher capacity or quicker recharge

Yes you can bring bounties from another system for Tod. I grinded my bounties in Eravate and made my CG at the same time :)

I'm currently modifying a 5A FSD for increased range. I skipped a few of the grade 3 and 4 boosts because I'd unlocked grade 5 which offers better value. Going back to 3 and 4 later, though, it seems I can't finish those up; have I lost out on getting maximum jump range? Also, do people invest in each type of modification (faster boot sequence and shielded), or just stick to one? Anyone?

Gruxxan ah same here, but found it in the end - you have to go to 'station services', then 'contacts'. Once your there look for something like station security and you should see an option to hand in your bounty

Engineering your ship modules is still way too RNG controlled, material collection is fine, more or less, FD need to make Engineers results more consistant, IMO. (They are "Experts" after all!)

mrbigtime81 You can use the Thrustmaster T-Flight HOTAS 4. It's specifically made for the ps4 and Elite Dangerous even has a controller preset for it. Would run you about $70 usd.

You don't, you can get a component that docks for you but it takes up a slot that can be used by something more useful and can fail sometimes.

TheMindCrushGroup At the very top of the mission board in a station/base, it'll say "community goals." Just press on that and it'll show them, but not all of them are for bounty hunting. Just press accept like a normal mission.
