Exploration/Navigation: Captains Log. It's a great companion app that helps track your journey and displays all sorts of information more quickly than in game tools do. And even has an overlay mode so you can view a lot of the information without even looking at a second screen. I don't explore with out it.

The 3 Elephants in the room: Inara, EDDB and Coriolis. I also use EDDiscovery, EDEngineer and EDDI (as well as most the others you've listed). I also appreciate D2EA's CMDR's Toolbox for when I want to go to multiple Engineers using his waypoints to cut the traveling times (and fuel) down.

Thanks for the great video -- I'm pretty sure I've used nearly all of these tools at some point (except for anything to do on-foot engineering/missions). One additional tool I'd add: EDJP - Elite Dangerous Journal Processor by Matt G. Lots of tools including: - A route helper which puts next waypoint into the system clipboard upon arrival at each waypoint to avoid having to switch applications to plot the next jump. Routes can come from nearly any source: Spansh neutron route or route optimizer (integrated), boxel surveys routes (built-in), and user-provided routes. - GEC POI integration - FSS overlay -- the FSS helper image provided above is overlaid on the FSS (again, avoiding the need to switch applications to see it and saving screen real estate). - ELW rarity checker and history. - Plus overlay notifications showing other tidbits about the system you're visiting or navigating to. Totally worth having in your toolbox! Matt G also has a plugin for Elite Observatory Core called BioInsights which is an invaluable tool for anyone doing exobiology.

Love the information and use a few of the tools covered.. ones i use often that weren't mentioned - EDScout an invaluable ingame tool that allows you to see the value of objects in a system as you fly a route meaning you can target scanning in systems and GameGlass which provides control panels (shards) and, for me, increases immersion as i don't need to be remembering keyboard assignments but have the command on a touch screen

ED Scout has helped me too in the deep black. It looks up all the way points on your route and lets you know in advance what systems have not been indexed already. A sure way to put a first to discover/map bonus in your update to cartographics.

There are additionally plenty of devices to get more immersion to ED. Head/Eyetracking, voicecommands (even EDDiscovery has built-in), ambient monitor backlightning of edge pixels (arduino). interactive RGB keyboard lighting (aurora), hotas, VR,... For app/device geeks there are plenty of stuff to play with.

After investing more than 6,000 hour's of playing ED, first on a ps4, then an xbox one and eventually an extremely good now two year old PC. After the drop of the most recent DLC. Tried it and shelved ED. Been over a year now. And though I really really REALLY miss playing. Logging back onto the fourm and reading the various negative's that seem to be the same as they were after the drop of the DLC. Just isn't sufficent reason to log back on to ED. I'm not sure, and wonder if you know, can one play ED, without downloading the recent DLC, even if they already own it. And just play as I did, prior to it?

Yes currently you can. Just install it as usual and then from the launcher choose deselect Odyssey (at the bottom) and go into horizons instead.

Great vid!!! Can I recommend the following - EDCoPilot and EDDI for exploration. My favorite HUD customiser is EDHM UI, which works with Horizons and Odyssey (and has extra colour shading on the EDO HUDs) - it's highly configurable and has excellent previews. I have the following installed (and often used) - EDCoPilot, EDDI, EDDiscovery, EDEngineer, EDHM UI, ED MArket Connector, Elite Dangerous Odyssey Materials Helper and Trade Computer Extension MkII plus Gameglass (mainly the exploration shard). o7

Great information CMDR Buur! I haven't used all of these apps, but there are a couple new ones I'm about to install. It would be nice to have an API list available for commanders who are also developers. There is a tool thats partially used by EDDB that just like Quizengine’s OMG for Odyssey Settlements, there is one i found and worked extremely well for Horizon’s Installations for raiding for data, showing you where the data points are, where turrets are located and much more for each and every Horizon’s Installation. EDDB would show a top doen view of the Installation with marks showing what is where but there is a key guide that shows you what each symbol means that i found on reddit. Great video as always o7
