Thanks, I played elite on the model B too, though dont remember much about it, shooting up the space stations to get the police out. I spent more time in Frontier on the Amiga, where I got to mine, carry passengers and shoot stuff up. ED takes it to the next level, especially in VR, its still a good game. I read Bravo 2 Zero, its a good account, he does some good fictional books too, easy readers with some interesting details, good egg that McNabb.

Its worth a go, both are fun, but Ive been finding Titans a bit easier. The Spires can be very easy, it depends on who is there, but if they shoot everything then there can be lots of interceptors, if that happens its not the norm, but lots of commanders do a live stream on antixenoinitiative, so its worth watching that to see the situation, its best when there is a leader organising folk. I hope you enjoy it, they are magnificent structures.

my only problem with guides like this is you basically need to have some experience with combat (especiallyt against thargoids) in the game. i have none, so the only way for me to really make money is wait for a community event for just hauling materials. kinda sucks too cause i would love to help out with the war, knowing that once we destroy the titans, that'll likely be it and the war will be over, so if you miss out, you miss out. beyond that, this is a great guide.

Thanks, yes I assume that folk have dabbled in combat, but it depends on how many rebuys you have, and engineering helps too. But you can make it to the titan and spire sites when they are dead with minimum risk, though you still need a quick ship to boost away from interdictions and to not panic, the latter being very important. But if you have notes on what you need to do, you should be able to make it. With the spires hitting the orthus is normally easy as they are very slow, it’s managing the other factors ether can trip you up, caustic management is tricky but once you recognise the sound of caustic then you learn to boost away. Then the shutdown fields can mean you crash, but as long as you don’t travel at speed at the ground you rarely get caught out and it’s not a rebuy. Interceptors can be tricky but there’s usually plenty folk to help out and the chieftain is tanky, again it comes down to keeping on top of repairs so you have the damage capacity. But yes, at first it’s tricky for anyone, oh and pip management, there’s another one, shieldless is better as you don’t need to recharge shields. Oh one thing you could do is crew up with somebody who has a seat on their ship to take in the sights, do some gunning, maybe worth it.

I do not think you need combat experience. you need to shoot when everybody shoots and not shoot when they are not shooting. Also fighting scouts with multicannon is not a big deal you can learn in less than 15 min.

Extremely precise advices. I figured out my self too, not to boost when facing the ground. The biggest threats are two: 1. Getting caustic damage and being hit by a shut-down field. 2. Having big downward velocity and being hit by shut down field. So the higher and slower you are the safer you are. Being low at high speed is very risky. I think shieldless spire builds are riskier, the shields protect you from the ground. Also they protect you very well against scouts. You do not need any engineering for B-weave the reason is that reinforcement will slow down the recovery time and resistances do not mean anything. The resistant ones give more integrity which may be a factor. The secondary effect fast charge is beneficial though. So grade 1 with anything except reinforced with fast charge

@@JG27Korny the caustic sink unlock was a game changer and so shieldless is not as essential, shieldless is less pip management, your a smaller target, though I tend to use shields in busy sessions with lots of random shut downs though, so good for beginners too.

@@y_ffordd I think down low at the spires, the pips to system has to be minimum 2, I do 4. However if I am too slow I get hit from the ground. In that way even if I am shut down shields still work and mitigate scouts who keep firing, but the most important is to hit the ground with 4 pips to systems. Actually when I hear the warning. I repeat it 3 times and then hit the anti fiels, meanwhile i point the ship upwors if near the ground i try to boost upwards and away. and add 4 pips to systems.

@@JG27Korny I think I only use 1 or 2 pips to sys with the shielded corvette, with G3 fast charge biweaves, thats my high G or numpty spire site build, I like it because you can get a decent sized shield and a 7C multi limpet and 128 limpets then 4 modshards, 1 AX MC and the traditional small Thermal vent beams. Not as many folk do spires now though.

o7 commander! Try to hit silent running AND your lasers to overheat quicker. You can even boost too. I know, it doesn´t make any sense because the heat should stay inside the ship and should not overheat the hull to burn this nasty caustic slime but somehow it works.

There’s a list of builds in the description, the chieftain of FAS are safest, you could do it in an Asp but you will do need more rebuys. Depends on how new you are to general piloting and combat how many rebuys you will go through though.

Normally USA time is best, the weekends are good for open, but to guarantee you have support then log in to the antixenoinitiative private group on elite and join the discord to see if there are commanders at the site, they are normally in one of the active voice groups, join and listen in or ask, some stream videos to show what they are up to everything is at their website antixenoinitiative.com/

I’ve been looking into doing this recently, just after finally doing successful runs on the Titan with my corvette. Im still fairly new so no engineering parts, and trying this solo… yeah didn’t work, didn’t die but didn’t kill them, was dealing with those small drones too much. Seems it is only viable with teams, but I’m.. to shy to enter a discord/team up with more experienced cmdr’s, since I’m still new.

You can take one down with a corvette or anaconda solo, you want around 4 or more mod-shards or mod-plasma. The anaconda 6 mod-shard build kills them rapidly but I like having one AXMC for scouts. But, you are better off with chums, you can still join the AXI private server and work with other commanders without discord. I often listen in on discord on mute as I can’t talk, then you can at least listen to instructions from the coordinator, they are friendly. Even if you don’t join discord, then follow other commanders lead, never hit an orthus first, destroy scouts when ever you can though. Hope you can join in, at the moment all AXI are targeting oya titan which should go down today, but the next spire target will be up soon.

Never use anything but light armor. It doesn't scale up in weight as you engineer it.

You lose a few hundred hull on a chief, that’s pretty significant, on a shielded build you could argue less hull but there is caustic and phasing damage and the Chief has great speed and manoeuvrability so what small losses you make there in the mass gain you more than make up with on hull. But if you are an excellent pilot then fair enough. But for beginners they need all the hull they can get, though all the ships I show here are unengineered, I would engineer them. Also the spire sites can be a real mess at times with many noobs setting off pulse waves, not dealing with scouts and the multi cyclops action, I would do military every time for that reason alone, I even put a shield on my corvette haha.

Do a Chieftain build first, as getting past the interdictions is the main tricky part, its a bit chaotic at the moment with many people on it. But you will get a few of your rebuy in the first kill. So try a Chief to get used to it then try the T10, they seem to do ok, though Ive not done a build, but as your engineered it should be good to go.

Thargoids are fine even if you do come across them, I like the Corvette, makes pirate massacre easy, spires too. The Cutter is a tricky one for handling, not sure if I like it, but it’s growing on me.

It’s worth getting geared up asap, I heard the orthus are getting nerfed from 40M to 15M per kill, current spire target is HIP 19870 body 3B so get over there with whatever build you can muster, the anaconda is the best for the spires, it may be a free for all so worth using shields to begin, I haven’t checked out the state of play as I’m pretty busy right now, enjoy.

@@Jerecdamn, maybe the spires is a big bridge too far, you have to go there when you’re ready though, very atmospheric. You can do the training again to figure stuff out if you don’t want to risk the ship, think there’s an option in the loading menu when you choose public/solo etc

I got most at Shinratah Dezrah (elite rank unlock) the caustic sinks, shutdown field neutraliser I got from a rescue megashop. I used to use LHS 20 and Ross 584 before I unlocked Shinratah. With the shutdown field neutraliser you want to bind it to a button then ideally press and hold that button as the wave hits, the release once past, which can be a second or so after the warning message, depending on distance. There is not always a warning too, but if you see the pulse bubble then hit it.

You will be happy with the chief at the spire, I use the Challenger as you get an extra medium slot for modshards or modplasma. The transit to the spire site can be tricky, but all you have to do is silent running, heatsink and boost, or just boost away and get back to hypercriuse, that seems to be the part some struggle with. But just listen in on the anti xeno initiative discord, sometimes Im just on mute there so I know what I need to do, it can be quite frenetic at the moment as many folk are larging it up at the spire.

Yes, the Corvette makes it very easy, at first you might be best off with a shielded build, this means the thargs shoot you with phasing damage on the way in, but you should only lose 10-15% hull max. I use shields when there are lots of randomers and on high G planets, otherwise replace the shield with another hull reinforcement. ps if you dont have either MOD-shards or MOD-plasmas then use either all Enhanced AX multicannon, or a mix of enhanced AX MC and AX missiles. the missiles for the orthus, the MCs for the scouts.

It’s still the most profitable, it depends on the team how much you make, there can be some randoms who don’t communicate, but with the double money power play move you double up so a billion an hour at least, though it takes a few hours to do the power play so I only did that when I had over ten billion in combat bonds (you don’t lose them when you dies)

Exobiology should earn you some nice money, you could also see if you could join sombodies multicrew to experience some spire sites, but better to get to the point where you can afford a Chieftain, enjoy.

It’s a mixed bag, it can get worse too, I was chased by 5 interceptors in one session that was full of randomers, tried catching it on video but didn’t work out, I just got blown up, think that was medusas. There’s so many doing AX now, driven by the liveries on offer no doubt, maybe they should do more livery content.

Silent running will lower your shields, pop a heatsink as it will heat up your ship, but I don’t use shields, when I have a shielded build I just pop a heatsink and boost away and get back into supercruise ASAP

Nope! Not going to do this waste of time! Inara has crapped out and given me false info 3-5 times ( first time ever had problems), and I tried to do some engineering and I don't get it. I locked one with some metal and they want something that is not known to make them like me more??? This makes no sense, I think I will go back to quitting this game for another 2 years. @@the4thj they are changing engineering to make it easier soon, maybe take a month off and come back to it when the engineering has been made easier. Or just fly without engineering, enjoy being a space pilot and avoid the grind. I’ve been doing the Thargoid stuff because of the the war and feeling like I just want to fly my ships around mountains and through canyons, like when I was doing exobiology in my Cobra4 or even better the eagle mk2, I also found just learning fa off in an eagle or sidewinder similarly relaxing, like meditation. A billion per hour is possible, depends on how effective the team are your working with. But the power play doubling of the money should make it easy, though as you need to get to level 5 power play to do that you need to factor in more hours (4hour) for that. I don’t do click bait, I’m not a big youtuber, this is the best way of making money in elite. Even in worst case of not doing power play, 500m per hour is far more than anything else.

This bullshit doesn't work. I tried for 3 hours with a fully MADMAN engineered and Xeno'd out Conda and couldnt even put a dent in shit at the spire. That was solo. There is NO way to kill the Thargoid ships before they warp out or go in their little hole. Also there is almost no way to avoid the pulse they throw at you.

You spent 3 hours and didn't kill one? what is your MADMAN build? have you watched the video? the most efficient way of doing this is in groups, which is why I recommend joining the AXI group server. Also you can kill them solo in an anaconda, I've done it with 4x mod-shards, but it takes time and is not effective, which is why I don't recommend solo, you need to wait until their shield goes down then shoot. It’s not aimed at absolute beginners, it’s assumed you will have some combat experience as you would expect with most Thargoid activity. This video was made before the nerf. I don’t think I had any rebuys on the Chieftain or FAS builds, so while your title idea is catchy, it doesn’t reflect my experience, but you can probably see it’s not unrealistic that you could make money very fast, sure it’s less fast now, maybe I should change the title, any more suggestions? Also, what is the quickest and easiest way to make money now?

It’s a bit of a KZbin exaggeration. But you could make it to a Spire with a Cobra mk3, with a few rebuys, then tag a few orthus and you have a chieftain, it depends on risk appetite. Just be sure you get in the anti xeno initiative discord and session.

@@sidremus Its entry level AX but its still AX, its not for folk who have been playing Elite for few hours, I could have gone for millionaire to billionaire, but it doesnt have the same ring to it. But the prices are clear from the very start of the video, a billion/hour is achievable once you get to the Spire site, some videos quote 2B/hour, which I could have used but didnt as it's aimed at beginners to Spires and I thought this would be a stretch. The cheapest ship that I had was the asp explorer at 33 M, this ship is easily achievable for beginners, the Chieftain too when you look at the high payouts of exobiology. And the poverty to billionaire in an hour, its doable from the point you get to the spire with the gear, I didnt include transit time, which for an experienced commander could be weeks if they are out in the black. But if you think this video is entirely dishonest then you should make your own to set things right, thanks for the feedback.

I like the vr, the cockpit in vr is amazing. It’s a bit sad that the on foot bit doesn’t work but I don’t do much of that.
