FULL Exo Biology Guide

I love the Imperial Courier for exobiology. It’s small, fast, and when D-rated with engineering can get 54 LY jumps fully outfitted for exo. Made 12 billion with it on a 10,000 LY round trip. It also has very beefy shields even with 2D efficiency. Great little ship. Oh and fit a docking computer, because it can land in very rough terrain when you cannot find a spot!

The Diamondback Explorer is a great choice for exobiology! I switched to using it from my Asp Explorer after spending a few days trying to locate and scan 3 samples of Fungoida Setisis that only spawns high in the mountains where Asp Explorers and larger ships cannot find a place to land. Recently I was in the bubble collecting engineering supplies to test the changes and was struck with boredom from the grind, so I decided to spend a day looking for exobiology to change things up. I was using my Asp Explorer and wouldn't you know it I ran into that Fungoidia Setisis on one of the planets again. I had no problem finding it took only a couple of minutes however I had to land so far away that the trip back into the mountains with my SRV took around 3 hours to find the 3 samples and then about an hour to get to a location where I could Recall my Asp to pick me up. This is very useful knowledge. I recently started playing ED and now I'm trying Exobiology after playing around with some other gameplay loops. Looks like I'll be grinding up a little money to retrofit my Dolphin into a Explorer.

Good guide. From one KGB FOAM pilot to another, you should D-rate any module youre not A-rating. Theyre lighter than E rated, so it gives you some extra jump range.

Nice video, and gain confirmed ! I explored during months systems and planets going to Colonia - very long travel doing exobiologist -> circa 2 000 000 000 credits !! Much more than i expected

Excellent guide. I was starting to get really fed up with how slow exobiology is when you just stick to the Bubble and do already discovered organics. Really wanting a FC of my own so I'll be checking this method out!

Yeah if you go far out it cuts the time at least in half. the 5x bonus goes crazy

Thanks for this. I haven't played ED seriously since before the engineer rework. I got Odyssey when it first came out but it ran terribly so I un-installed. This weekend I re-downloaded, I have 1.3 billion in the bank and was looking into trying to make enough for a Fleet carrier, but really had no idea where to start in the current state of the game.

Nice video. Worth a sub. Will you be doing more ED? One question, though, is the differences in shade of blue/ blue green. I believe that it is simply due to the terrain below it, not the likelihood of a biological. Otherwise, it would imply a heat map, which I don't believe is the case. I like to take an SRV just to have in rough terrain where landing may be difficult. I agree most of the time it's better to fly between scans.

I guess the reason why it seems like it does correlate is based on where the stuff spawns and a lot if it happens to be in the blue green areas. Yeah the SRV is nice there

I've noticed everyone recommends a small ship, and some outright say no mediums. I can understand no Jump-Conda's due to landing sites needing to be so large, but is there a reason they say not to use the Asp Explorer or Krait Phantom many use as exploration ships already?

Not really, its mostly due to rocky bodies. They can have really small areas to land in and the mediums can make it difficult. They are still usable and I am even going to move to one and only land on high metal content worlds.

damn your biomes seem to load way faster than mine, I must need to change my graphics settings or something. How much do you actually get for a first discovery?

Its a five times bonus to the price of the bio. So Stratum Tectonicas goes from 19m to 95m
