7:20 - I believe that unit measurement is *Million metres* not Mega metres because the speed indicator goes to 0.1c at above 30 000 000 Mm/s.

The official meaning of Mm is Megameter. And you are indeed correct that 1 Megameter / 1Mm = 1 Million Meters. :) (1 kilometer is a 1000 meters, 1000 kilometers is 1000 x 1000 meters which equals 1 million. 1000km then is the same as 1Mm). :) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Megametre

May it be possible there is no more unknown probe spawning at kc-u b3-1 8 after patched to chapter 4??? Flying around for two days and in the hole system unknown signals do spawn but not around planet no. 8...

This is all well and good, and your video - as always - is extremely informative. But if I didn't actually have your video as a reference and was just playing the game, how would I even come about all of this information in a natural, explorative way? Is there some kind of a hint system or, I don't know, anything that would point me towards all of this alien tech and sites? Also, one more question, last time I played Elite with my buddy and visited one of those barnacles, I was supposed to bring back meta alloys, but that particular site's barnacles never dropped any meta alloys. Supposedly it was a bug. Has this now been fixed? I haven't been in the game ever since then because it really turned me off that I made such a trek for an upgrade I wanted and then to find the game not dropping the desired meta-alloys.

I just hope that we can find thargoids at other places. Being interdicting by them while deep exploring at thousands of lightyears away from the bubble would be awesome. I don't think they'd attack lonely explorers, but that'd still be nice to see!

using the coordinates system is useful but most of the alien locations now have in-game markers on them to help navigate

Yes I think all of it is. I just recently did the Mission from Ram Tah myself. Its nerfed and will gain you "only" 111000000 Cr instead of 200 mio. but its still worth it and very interesting. You can find the barnacles as well. The other content i didn't encounter yet, but I'm still looking foreward to it.

Ok so i just got a message from the professor about collecting unknown biological matter. Doesn't give me any indication of where to goe to find the it, all it shows it a marker on obsidian orbital, but theres nothing there. Went to a nav beacon and a bunch more planets poped up in system, but no info on where to go find the stuff. Advice?

Wait.... It's been sometime since I've played ED. But at 12:01 Since when do planets actually appear that dark? I mean it's pitch black.... Every planet I typically landed on before the latest update regardless of it was the dark side of the planet or a system that didn't even have a star the planet would would still be visible without headlights.

There are a few planets in the game that are pitch black, but far from all of them. I also haven't been able to figure out how to find the dark type of planets. Some planets are so dark that you need your SRV headlights in order to drive around.

You need to scan the system with a Discovery Scanner. Then the bodies will show up

Only if you want to carry Thargoid creations in your cargo hold. You can see "barnacle refueling" and hyperdiction even if you don't have Unknown Artifact or Probe in your cargo. I saw the refueling personally even though I didn't have UA with me.

That's weird. I just picked up thargoid sensor fragments (material to unlock palin) in the HIP 17862 system and immediately got interdicted on my way back to Maia, by 2 thargs at once! I also had an artifact with me, which they took. That was really frustrating, 1 hour of exploration down the tube. Remember to get the counter measure utility mount.

I want to do this stuff to see the alien content, but it seems like there is a pretty ridiculous grind in order to even start getting access to this content, which really really sucks. I don't like MMOs at all, and I guess this is where the MMO design seeps into the game, but I wish it wasn't there.

I've been around that ammonia planet for 4 hours and haven't found a single thing. I dropped into some of the Degraded Emissions (Threat 0). And after 4 hours I've seen a total of 22 of them. But not a single one with (Threat 2). Most of it has been in open. Does it matter if I'm in Open, PG or Solo? This RNG shite can fuck off!

yes, it does, was just there 20 min ago. Crashed Anaconda, Thargoid, Type 9 x 2. It was pretty dark, still only took me about 8 min to find the location.

Nope, all the exploiters got their mods removed, and any mods they had of a similar type on any of their other ships. SDC, 13th, 12.5th and AA have all been decimated and alot of them have said they are quitting.

Thanks for the video, but trying to navigate by crappy sodding coordinates is just infuriating. This isn't a fun thing to do and is such bad game design as to be almost laughable. Having to contend with this piss poor method of navigation completely put me off anything to do with alien site hunting.

Fly around Maia and the Peliades cluster. Make random jumps around there. Carrying illicit cargo may increase your chances of a sighting. Occasionally, the aliens will pull your ship out of hyperspace and scan it.
