Well done, Commander! It was the Adamastor that got me investigating a lot of old lore in Elite, from the first telling of the Thargoid sightings and subsequent wars, to the history of the FTL drives and INRA. Spent a lot of time in D2EA's Discord sifting through the info. And yes, you can insert the Pepe Silvia meme here! LOL! But I did make a number of predictions, which have since come true. Still looking for info though, particularly dealing with INRA, or rather who they were before and what they became after they were "dissolved". Been stocking up on materials and data, as I have a feeling we are going to need them as soon as Odyssey drops, if not sooner. Even decided to get my alt account going. Bought it quite a while ago on sale, but really didn't have much reason to do anything with it until recently. Thanks for sharing this with us, and for everything you do for the community. It keeps us interested, and striving to do more in the game we all love. o7

Great video feed, I've been playing ED for years, just pottering around the galaxy listening to Fleetwood and pink floyd, earning creds and scratching the paint work of my ship, the Cabal. You may of heard of it!... ive been avoiding the Goids but it looks like I may not have much of a choice in the future. Loved the intro , great start Commander Mattius. This video made me reflect more than many others , because probably I blamed too much on human specie since the very start of the conflict. This content instead makes me reflect that the two species are totally incompatible , in an hand us humans are too.... "individual" when it comes to approach a first contact. Let the example of the idiot I don't even dare to name who died in the name of "oh an alien ship! lets see if my beams work on it." Stupid? Human spirit is way more complicate than that. In the other hand sentient beings who live in a total different dimension , I don't think the word individual is even part of their absurd vocabulary. The way they reproduce , the way they create and use life to their service.... The way we react at that. Humans and Thargoids should stay far away from each other , but we know it will never happen.

I've often speculated that the sounds you can hear from the barnacles is actually Thargoids and that they are a sort of communication node. Like you're actually hearing the thargoids somewhere else in the galaxy loading up data and when they come to "beam up" whatever it is they do they are picking up data. Perhaps they are navigational nodes. The meta alloys could be some form of a self regeneration technology that is made to keep the relays functioning without needing to be constantly monitored. If you go to the "Super" forests of barnacles there are often scavengers running around and these could be like main waypoints or beacons. Kind of like a power substation and the other ones are simply small transformers/relays just sending the signal out further so thargoids can come in and upload or download data. Think of it like a Thargoid version of Universal Cartographics and they are coming to the barnacles to update their nav computers.

The Ram Tah logs on the guardians shed some light on this. Guardian scientists theorised that the barnacles are resource gathering devices and larger Thargoid constucts gather whatever it is Barnacles collect.

I'm convinced that something the Thargoids either created, or encountered themselves at some point can infect living things, that it infected the Guardians either due to the Thargoid interaction exposing them, or they got ahold of whatever it is that infects things and the Thargoids that showed up were trying to wipe that out. I think either some human factions know and keep it secret that they know, possibly involved with at least one of the alien factions.

The stones' description remind me of radio. I wonder if Thargoids communicate over vast distances using a technology unlike radio waves, perhaps more biological in nature. The voices being "loud but far" could be hinting at the nature of Barnacles; maybe they're antennae.

Hmm "Far away"?. There are some pretty large sectors (as in several LY across) in the "western" part of the galaxy that are permit-locked, but have no way of actually obtaining said permits. I wonder if that's where the Thargoids are coming from? They were presumably reserved by Fdev for future content, so who knows.

Remember the definition of "Far away" changes as technology advances and it is easier for us to travel to those places. In the 1600s, the Americas would be deemed far away to the Europeans. I do think There is something to the permit locked sectors, but i think the Thargoids are from another Galaxy originally.

Get on grinding those Guardian sites and you'll have the Anti Thargoid weapons you need to fight Interceptors in no time. AXI needs every pilot they can get.

@@MATTIUS Honestly, I have no idea where any Guardian sites /are/, and I need to thicken my wallet a bit more before I'm comfortable with going out and exploring/grinding for mats.

@@thatlass Try exploration. Use the Galaxy map to filter out all but G class, B class, wolf rayets, Whites, Non sequence, and K classes to bridge the gap. Head towards the California nebula, use that the place as a base of operation and head out in all directions. You'll get those pay cheque Earth like worlds in the G class stars mainly. Make sure you fully scan each system, Look for high metal content worlds, metal rich, Water worlds, and earth likes. Remember to look in the System map once you fully scan and look for planets that say "terraforming candidate" You'll get a bonus for those. Ill be making a video on exploration soon so ill explain more then.

What if there was a group of Guardians we didn't know about? There's a group that made bio-engineered weapons, and a group that focused on technology.. if both were combined, it sounds like something similar to what we know of Thargoids could be bio-engineered ships created for pilots who for some reason fight with anything involved with a possible infection causing a race to destroy themselves. That would also explain why the bridge crew dipped out leaving half of everyone, to keep more people from being exposed by something that would become super intelligent and spread to other systems.
