Heard this on XM this morning. Absolutely achingly beautiful.

Each time I listen to this understated, powerful song, I hear more of my own soul and longings in it. Everyone with fewer years left than we have already survived can relate to this song. No two voices could express it better than Eliza and Robert. To me, this song should achieve the same adoration as Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah." [Sorry... I see that I posted this comment from my Denton the Dragon account. It is actually Denton's creator, Jeff Hutchins' review.]

I keep coming back to listen again and again. I spend a lot of time pondering my life these days, and it always comes back to this. So moving, so authentic, so unflinching. It's only this, how do we get so sidetracked?

Your voices together... gently worn velvet and old country china with a pattern of fine cracks.

Crying.... my mother is in Hospice now, and all I can say that yes, she loved deeply, and has been loved deeply, and she has lived the life worth living, and I am cherishing every last moment with her.

If the whole album is as good then it's a winner.

I heard this on KPFT a few days ago and was incredibly moved. A truly beautiful song, mournful with recognition of time and age.
