Great to see you back! I covered the Pop Up Metro a few times in some of my more recent videos, and I hope that the concept spreads throughout the nation since there are so many branch lines that would benefit from regional rail service instead of having to drive. However, the safety standards for railcars in the U.S. are very strict, and I would hope that the start up company would also convert other FRA approved railcars for said service. Also, nice to see Britain is witnessing the beauty known as heritage units on some ofbtheir more prevalent passenger runs, specifically with the LNER 225.

The LNER livery is a new scheme, more of a hybrid between the old intercity livery and the new Azuma livery than a heritage scheme.

Well edited and Well presented and yes them 701s are indeed the Disappointment just like the 196s that were meant to be in service back in December 2020! It will be interesting to see how the 701s fail to provide SWR with a better service than the trains SWR sent to their graves too early like the 456s (RIP) and the 442s (RIP). We've all missed you Yawwie, I've very much enjoyed Ep7 and I look forward to Ep8 whilst watching as a Hologram! Take care now :)

No sign of an end to the Mk3-derived units in Northern or Great Western territory - the Sprinters are still used all over the north west and the south west, and as far as I'm aware neither TOC has any plans to replace them until they physically disintegrate.

Also I heard from someone that the 701s will enter service in the December 2022 timetable change but this is SWR your talking about and knowing them they'll just do a bigger delay than Crossrail. As an American, and as one who saw ACS-64 662 (The one with the TSW2 decal), I can safely say thats cursed, Its Amtrak's 50th year of service and for the Northeast Corridor we get a TSW2 promotion. I know the paint scheme was meant to be specifically Phase III, but the TSW2 promo kinda ruins it a lot. I wished they put the old "Pointless Arrow" logo on, like they have done for all other ACS-64s (excluding ACS-64 642) with the travel swishes (I dunno what its called). Even for the TSW2 Promo, where it has Boston-Providence, I have very rarely seen it being used north of New York, and before anyone says "Oh you dont take the train enough" the Northeast Corridor literally goes through my back yard. I see them daily. Maybe thats how I got into trains....

The 1972 stock is planned for replacement with a new 2024 stock built by Siemens. The class 99 are being ordered I think because GBRF can’t get any more class 66 or derivative units.

After the DFT took over Southeastern the service has got much worse. Some journeys are impossible to do now because there is no guarantee the train will arrive on time so you can catch the next one. #BringBackGovia

The Class 455 will definitely be missed and very soon the Class 313 will also be missed. Are Southern inheriting the Class 377/5 from Southeastern and to bring back the 2 Class 377/2 that were on hire with Southeastern. And the Class 387/2 on hire with Great Northern to be cascaded back to Gatwick Express. With the Class 387/3 cascaded from c2c & GWR have now been cascaded to Great Northern to work alongside with the Class 387/1. And c2c that are expecting to introduce the Class 720/6s later this year. That are replacing the Class 387/3.

Not every day you get an extremely fast accelerating train. With an acceleration rate of 1 metre squared per second, it is one of the fastest, but not the fastest. I would have liked it if they modified the class 331 to be more metro like, because 1.3 metres squared per second is considerably faster. NOT COMPLAINING, because I haven’t been on it yet, but it would have probably made the Timetable and gap between trains much shorter.

Trust me, in my experience the 331 drivers never go full power, they keep it to 319 levels of acceleration. But you get that rare occasion where the driver absolutely floors it, and it really pushes you back into your seat.

It's strange, isn't it. A regional train designed with metro style features. They even retrofitted the 331s with seat reservation screens, even though Northern don't do that. Also, they sound fantastic, best sounding modern train in my opinion.
