Unlike Negan, he never goes too far by killing entire community of innocent people. Killing 1 or 2 to show who they shouldn't mess with. Negan is even against killing kids which shown how much he cares and respect Carl and Judith. He even sees humans as valuable resources. But the CRM have no problem with that.

they probably slaughtered them because iris didnt trust them and told the whole community, so the CRM saw them as a threat and used the walkers as a decoy, so when the bigger Omoha community sees this, they think the walkers got in. its also pretty funny that the CRM never showed themselves before and doesnt tell anybody where they are. and after 10years essentially they come out of hiding into the daylight just to kill a whole colony for no real reason

@@timmiekat6072 Well you have to understand in the beginning, when law and order collapses, a power vacuum forms as there is no threat of punishment anymore if you run around terrorizing others. That's why in the first months of a disaster scenario there is an orgiastic display of looting, violence and murder, because there is no organized force in place to stop such people. If you decided to ambush a group, kill the men then rape and torture the women there would be nobody to come punish you because there is no stable system of governance in place. Of course, once the dust settles and the various groups start banding together do you begin to see some semblance of normalcy again. Even vicious warlords (like Negan) will not tolerate attacks against their tributaries, since they are heavily reliant on the income / resources generated by these communities and will punish any act of violence against them.

REASON WHY THEY KILLED THE TOWN: When Iris gave the speech to the entire town (because she was the top student) and said she doesn't trust the CRM, that 'planted the seed' in peoples minds of why the people shouldn't trust the CRM. Elizabeth then killed the town because she knew they would be a possible threat after hearing their top student (Iris) doesn't trust the government, so she was trying to tie loose ends. Although killing 9,000 out of their 200,000 people is a large percentage, it's obvious Elizabeth was more than willing to do so in the name of the CRM. Who knows what else she's willing to do

Civic Republic is different from Omaha and Portland. Now we know Civic Republic have 200,000 residents and located in Philadelphia and in alliance with Omaha (100,000 residents and Campus colony 10,000) and Portland(87,000 residents), in the walking dead Common Wealth only have 50,000 people but I think CW is more militaristic than Omaha and Portland but we shall see. The reasons Civic Republic Military (CRM) want to destroy Omaha and Portland because they believe the other 2 communities are draining on Civic Republic resources and too dependent on them so CRM have to the destroy them. If you watch world beyond the kids fled to Portland to warn people there that CRM want to destroy them. Before they destroy Omaha they extracted 10,000 kids from Omaha and they doing the same to Portland.

'Evil to the core' is the mark of a good fictlonal villain IMO - think The Governor or (early) Negan. Watching Virginia's demise in FTWD last night, I couldn't help but compare her to the other villains in both franchises and overall I think she was a fairly pissweak character. It can go pear-shaped - Irish actor Jack Gleeson played Joffrey Baratheon a little TOO well and had to take a break from acting when it became clear that some viewers weren't content to see him die onscreen .....
