Elizabeth Taylor made a surprise appearance at the 2009 AMFAR fund raiser Macy's Passport, hosted by Sharon Stone. Sound starts weak but gets better.

Her smile has never lost its beauty. There was little to admire about her marriages. She nearly destroyed herself with booze. Such things make her all the more marvelous for giving so much of herself in the later years. Not everyone who loses so much or so often can rise up to be champion.

At the time she had a heart condition, very painful back, wheelchair bound, on top of that a cold and this woman is still willful enough to appear for this cause, definitely admirable and shows her heart has always been as beautiful as she's always been.

Elizabeth Taylor had Myocarditis, which is an inflammation the heart muscle. It causes extreme breathing difficulties and weakness, among other things. It's a progressive disease. In the end it's very painful. It's no wonder Elizabeth suffered a lot in her final years. R.I.P. Elizabeth!

Dame Elizabeth was 77 here. She died just 2 years later of heart complications. She didn't aged too well as a result of her years of health problems, alcoholism, tranquilizers, pain killers, medications, weight problems, hip operations, brain surgery and lifestyle. Really, how much more can a human take? She will never be replaced.

patty e thomas no thank you for your gracious reply.. Hope all is well with you and yours.. By the way what is your favorite Elizabeth Taylor movie? perhaps you have one special one or many just curious... take care Patty again nice talking to you.. I'm a shut in as Iam taking care of my invalid hubby ... And have my own back issues... Not your problem... Just telling you a smidge about myself... I sense that you are a very careing person ... Im in My 60s and love to talk about Ms. Taylor and old Hollywood the Golden Age of Hollywood to be exact... I respect you are perhaps a very busy lady .... So don't fret if you don't have any spare time ... But if you do great... Iam by no means a stalker as many in the world today like to say... They tend to look down their noses at people that reach out to other like minded people... Iam very in tune to others and empathize with whatever their situations... their pain is my pain.... any who ... Nice to talk to you.... Im not a needy person just like connecting with kindred spirits that are on the same wavelength as I am... your friend Yvonne... ✝🎭🎬💞

@@WildStrawberryFilms ( you're very welcome ) FYI that short appearance of Elizabeth Taylor brought in one + million to help fight the disease. I had a laminated photo of this but was stolen along with an autographed pic of her. Doesn't matter we're all just passing through. She really was a remarkable woman and I know this from first hand on being with her. She one said: I'll try to make it to 80; but, as you can see she was very tired and her body was failing quickly and remember it's really a miracle that Elizabeth Taylor made it to 79. She was a fighter until the body begins to say no more. Good night and remember life is a huge gift from above ♡♡♡
@WildStrawberryFilms4 жыл бұрын
@@rma3_3_3 You are so right. I was amazed how weak she was when she came out on stage, but as she got into her talk, you could see spiritual energy from her compassion sustaining her. I recall an announcement towards the end of the fashion show that the 1 million mark had been passed. It was a wonderful evening all around. Let us not forget the founder of AMFAR, Dr. Mathilde Krim, who wisely sought out Miss Taylor's involvement. I had met the Dr years earlier when she conducted a research study, I think out of UCLA, in which she gave the MMPI to a broad range of people, and demonstrated with it that the mental health of straight and gay people were equivalent.

It hurts to see how ill and fragile she is here. This was not long before she died in March of 2011. She must have taken a tremendous effort to make this appearance. Her congestive heart failure was really bad by this time, and I'm amazed that she lasted as long as she did. She was a jewel of a lady, an icon, and there will never be another like her.

If only 5% of the billionaires of the world were as kind of Dame Elizabeth Taylor, we would have a whole different life. To think that ALL the work Taylor did against AIDS was a stunt to sell perfumes is so mean of you. To get advertising and marketing response much less was necessary. Do you really think someone as rich as Elizabeth would appear in several public functions on a wheelchair to sell fragrance?!

I haven't read Debbie Reynolds autobiography. I do know she had an axe to grind over Eddie dumping her for Ms. Taylor. What really counts in her personal life is the very thing in this video. She created in cooperation with Matilda Krim the organization AMFAR which easily saved hundreds of thousands of lives and improved the quality of many people including children with HIV. Yes, she was a very, very good woman.
