Mathews are improving the wheel every year! I can't afford to buy a new bow every year but when it comes time to get a new bow it is nice to know that the technology will get better every year till then. 🙂

Glad to see you guys together again. I know there's long history but after the TAC videos I got this weird feeling tha tmaybe the Elk Shape guys and MFJJ had had a little falling out so... awesome to see you guys back together giving us this great look at one hell of a new bow. I bought a V3X 33 last year and while I'd love to try the new Phase 4 I'm still so incredibly in love with the V3X... although I could see wanting a P4 29" LOL. My wallet hates me.

Dan, A lot of noise out there is people wondering if the “rubber” between the limbs will break down over time. I’ve personally seen harmonic dampers break down over time. After talking to Mark Hayes do you have insight into this? Love the channel….Thanks!

The man cave is epic in every way. For me at 6’ 255lbs with a 29.5 in draw the 33 is the one I would definitely go with. I have only had two bows in my 39 years of life and they both are 33 ATA bows. 😎🏹

Still rocking the VXR. I love the V3X and I hear you about the Phase 4 and why it’s better. For those of us that do not get a new bow every year. Would you have any concerns about having 8 limbs or wear and tear on the rubber between the limbs? Also I’ve heard great things about GAS my local shop however will only use ABB strings. They also won’t do trade ins on used bows. Need some insight if you don’t mind.

Have any you boys running the epsilon rest had issues with the cord catching on the Mathews quiver? It’s only happened a few times to me. Twice I notice it and fixed it. Once I didn’t and when I shot it sent my arrow almost straight into the dirt.

I wonder if it will shoot the same on a January hunt that is 0 degrees as it did on a August practice session. From the reviews everyone talks about quietness and deadness. No one sponsored by Mathews says anything about it being the most accurate bow to date.
@jonesoutdoors9901
@jonesoutdoors9901 2 жыл бұрын
@@hunterdolanch8725 I believe it will be just as accurate….no part of the pressure is put on the rubber, it is put on the limbs, cams, strings, cables etc….the rubber is for dampening the sound of the shot.

Nice work guys. I’d just point out that the D loop length has nothing to do with the draw length of the bow. Big miss conception that if you shoot a short loop or short neck release that your bows draw length should change.

Just seems like Matthew’s isn’t geared to the shorter draw people. It’s definitely a noticeable difference because I can’t get much leverage so far back in the cycle to pull the cams over. Love just about everything else about them but that cycle is killing it for me

This is the opinion from a happy V3 owner…. They are all the same. Mathew’s has made marginal changes and additions each year. Normally that makes for a drastically different product 4,5,6 years down the road. However, the VXR, V3, V3X and now the Phase 4 are essentially the same bow. They’ve said so themselves… same cams. same axle to axle (+,- an inch or so) same speeds (advertised) same weight. Same tuning system. Currently we are advertising this is quieter with the inline system… but no data other than “it seems like it, cuz I shot next to a guy and his was louder” I love my Mathew’s but personally don’t see a reason to get a new one every year as the average archer/hunter. The amount of time to set the bow up correctly. allow the strings to settle in. Tune each arrow for the bow, sight in pins, sight in sight tape, re-sight in pins and sight tapes once the bow shoots in. Re-tune the bow cuz your strings have stretched, etc. It just doesn’t make sense chasing your tail like that year after year. Until Mathew’s can sell a bow that you don’t have to immediately swap out the strings on, increase the speed, or increase the poundage, change the material to carbon or something drastic like that. At this point there doesn’t seem like an advantage to buying a new one. The average, above average hunter/ shooter who shoots more than 1 but less than 100 arrows each day would be better suited knowing all the intricacies and behaviors of his current set up rather than buying new just to spend twice as much on a new stabilizer.

What is a problem with all manufacturers across the board, is pricing the phase 4 with all the Mathews accessories. You’re looking at close to 3 grand or more depending on how you set up your bow. They need to remember who the majority of there customers are. And with hunting property becoming harder to acquire. And rising inflation how many are going to drop that kind of money on a bow. I have a v3x 33 as well as two Mathews vertix. So no need for a phase 4 here. This year I am going to try one of bears models priced with the average hunter in mind. Put some good strings and cables and accessories on it and see how it performs. No reason to have to spend what they are wanting for these bows.

I don’t mean to be controversial, but having less sound and vibration make a difference in real world hunting applications? This is a genuine question. Last year Mike’s Archery tested almost all the major brand bows with a decibel meter. The V3X was 91 and I believe the Hoyt was 97. Did Mathew’s bows kill more animals because they were quieter?

All these people complaining about these bows who have never held let alone shot one. Want bow companies to come up with a totally different design every year. Folks those days are over. All the top manufacturers are doing the same thing making small incremental improvements on proven platforms. Look at Hoyt’s innovation this year the came out with monkey tails. Mathews is the only bow on the planet you can shoot from 60 to 75 pounds without touching a limb bolt. So you can keep your limbs bottomed out where you’re bow is most efficient. With the switch weight mods you can change your draw weight, length, and let off. No cheesy little rotating mods. And stops you have to move. The top hat system is bullet proof and once it’s set it cannot move unlike other manufacturers. Please look at how many little 5 cent spacers are between the cam and limbs on other bows. Worse than that try changing out a cam on one so you can see what a pia it is. It will make you love top hats. Look at the resale value on a Mathews compared to other used bows. If it’s not Mathews or Hoyt you can’t hardly give them away. Mathews is still leading the game in every category. If you want rotating mods and super adjustable bows. Mathews puts those where they belong on there mission youth bows.
