@Nefaryus Drakeyeah I understand where you're coming from with how much you pay for the bow. I'd probably just put the side plates on if the grip started coming off. Chris B also makes a difference grip for the vxrs. Then again your spending more money on side plates or new grip.

Thanks for the video! Went in yesterday night to Spokane Valley Archery and shot the VXR and V3 side by side. Bittersweet moment folks.. it's finally time for me to hang my Hoyt hat and make the switch. I was contemplating switching with a VXR this year and I'm glad I waited. What a difference. To me, the minor couple of things that I wasn't fond of on the VXR have been solved by the V3. Hands down this is my perfect bow, I literally can't find one thing about it that doesn't feel less than amazing. The guys set me up to try both the 27 @75lbs with 80%LO and the 31 @75 with 85%LO and what a different experience there too. I love that Mathews can cater to so many people's preference for a bow in a singular model (other than the choice of ata size, obviously) via draw weight, length, and let off with a quick simple module swap. I'm sold, the buddy that was with me is sold, and if you're a local you definitely need to go visit the guys at Spokane Valley Archery and have them hook you up.

I shot a V3 today here in Az. Oh my, what a sweet, smooth shooter. I shot it back to back against a 2020 VXR31.5, V3 pulls a bit easier in comparison to the vxr thru till anchor.. barely moves after the shot with no stabilizer on it.. the arrow was a 31" easton axis which felt pretty heavy and might of had a help in the smoothness after the shot. cant go wrong!

Where is this bow shop!? The ones around me treat costumers really poorly... like they don't want business. I took my halon 6 to three bow shops in February to get it set up right one was three hours away in another state! Each time there was something that I didn't like about the bow after, peep sight too low or high and not tied in... did that myself, rest and d-loop way out of level, always something. I hunted with it once in October and decided to change some minor things which turned into me realizing I need to rebuild the whole thing. Its just uncomfortable to shoot.

I have had horrible results with minimum wage pro shop techs. 3 times my bow popped out of the press and bounced at turner’s outdoors. To paper tune they twisted my cables so many times, the cable axles were bowing down, I drove 92 miles to a range to shoot with some buddies,4th shot my cables came OFF (!!) I went back to the pro shop and they “adjusted” it, I wanted a Dozen arrows in 400 , went back to the range, the Arrows were 500’s (!!) stupid. Took my bow to another “pro” shop, they tweaked it. Now it’s opening day morning and I am warming up at 63 yards before walking in to the mountains, my string comes off again- no hunting for 2.5 weeks when the new strings come in. Oh there’s more. I won’t bore you. I now have a press, a draw scale, fletching jig and everything else it takes to set up and work on a bow (!!!) plus I have 2 back bows from Xpedition Archery, they chronograph super fast. So now NOBODY touches my bows . Figure it out and do all your own work!!! Amen

Probably a stupid question, but why do so many bows have the stabilizer coming backwards? Seems like more weight, more fangled opportunities to get caught on brush & not be very comfortable for all day carry. Does the sight and quiver cause that much forward off balance?? I’m surprised more people don’t use a backquiver and get unnecessary stuff off their bow. Just observations. On a completely unrelated note, I wish so much I could just move out west and live/work/hang & hunt with you guys. Seems like a tight knit group of heavy hunting pipe hitters!!
@ElkShape4 жыл бұрын
Great group of people out here, hunters in general are awesome. The rear weight is to get the bow to balance as desired, both front/back and side/side.. Also total weight makes the bow more stabile. Many competitive archers use rear weight. But it's just a matter of figuring out what works and balances for you and your setup. Best - TC
