We got a bearded dragon a week ago and your videos were so helpful when we were preparing for them (don't know if it's a boy or girl yet because haven't gotten a good look lol)! Thankfully they have been an insanely good eater, they'll even eat their salad every day with no issues 😍 Haven't experimented with different veggies much yet but I'm starting to suspect they're not a huge fan of carrots because they'll often just eat all the greens around it 😂
@caterscarrots34073 жыл бұрын
I don't have a bearded dragon yet and I hope that when I get my bearded dragon he/she will eat the salad straight away, but this video is definitely useful for me. I myself would rather put cut up fresh fruit than fruit juice in the salad if using the fruit trick you mentioned in the video, as fresh fruit is more nutritious(some of the nutrients in fruit are only found in the fiber and not in the juice) than fruit juice. If I am using fruit juice at all, it would be for myself. I have heard that bearded dragons love red fruits and vegetables more than any other color, so using strawberries or red bell pepper might work better than using blueberries for example. Not sure how true that is or if their preference for strawberries over blueberries has anything to do with the color red.

I don’t know why our babies will eat salad all day handfed but never go eat the plate on their own lol. So far no takers on beardie bites🤷🏽♀️ The funny thing is my daughter would barely touch a little broccoli before we got our beardies. Now she eats a lot of them after watching them eat and today asked to eat some of their salad (good thing I throw the larvae in last😂)

Yes, you can put live feeder worms in the salad, as long as you don't overdo insects for adults.

My baby bearded is fine when I stick my hand in his cage or feed him in his cage but when I try to pick up and hold him he jumps out of my hands and he gets very skittish- I’ve watched many videos and I don’t know what to do.- he is about 4-6 months
@theoneandonly11583 жыл бұрын
It's really normal. Start small. Just keep your hand inside his tank, then close it. Do that a few days. Wait until your dragon comes to your hand. Most reptiles at babies are very skittish and as they get older, they gain more confidence. I have a baby dragon and I've only had him for 4 days. So I'm leaving him alone and won't handle him until he comes to me. Essentially, train him so he know that you are fun, food and comfort. So try not to grab him as he is running away. I have a 2yr old tegu and that's how we trained him. He was very skittish as a baby and he would bolt, but once he was adjusted, we started training him and spent a lot of time together. Even if we just sat in front of his cage and he saw us there. Baby steps and You'll be fine.

@ellesreptiles3 жыл бұрын
Most bearded dragons won't drink water - they get most of the water they need from the food they eat. So spraying water on their salads, using a dropper to put water onto their mouths, or baths are all good ways to get them to take in more water. 😊
