Gosh it’s so normal to go through all the emotions and feelings, homesickness ect, sometimes you want to go back home and that’s okay too. Moving between countries is so incredibly challenging. Allow yourself to be in your feelings. A hug from a fellow mum that has moved countries more than once 🩵🩵🩵

Ellie, my Nan passed away almost 4 weeks ago, and the funeral is tomorrow. I have been really struggling with my emotions as this is my first time experiencing bereavement. You are so right, it helps so much to find the joy in the simplest of things, it’s what grounds us. Your videos and words have brought me so much comfort 🫶🏻 xx

Multiple emotions and realities can be at play side by side when moving abroad. And it’s not until you do it for the first time and step out on your own and then have a moment to breathe that you realise how much is and has gone on in that move. It’s quite a surreal experience when you take the away any attachment of positive and negative and just let the experience speak for itself and observe the different layers and learnings. This has been my take on moving over seas alone with my partner in the last 2 years. You guys are absolutely smashing this move ❤ thankyou for sharing your experience with us all

Its perfectly normal to have the feelings you are having with moving abroad. Most people go through those emotions, its all part of the adjustment and naturally missing family, friends and what you know ❤. Just always do you, its your journey, your choice x

I throughly enjoyed this vlog, especially your chat at the end, just two days ago I made the decision to log out of Instagram and tiktok for a month, I picked up a book that I had started a year ago and sat in my garden this afternoon and took the time to really enjoy the sun on my skin and I’ve nearly finished the book. I feel like I could really relate to you, how you said you’ve felt in a bit of a slump recently and it is amazing how we can feel after taking some time for ourselves, I feel reconnected and am looking forward to taking the time again to read. Must be the universe or something because I’ve got goosebumps after watching your talk about finding your creativity. I had the exact same conversation with my sister. I feel like motherhood/life takes over a bit and I haven’t been able to enjoy a creative outlet. Thanks for reminding us to invest in our passions a bit more! I always love your chit chats ❤️Also, completely normal for emotions to be up and down after such a big move. I don’t know how you’ve done it all, but you should definitely be proud of yourself! Hi Elle and Connor good to see you guys having some quality time together, being a mum can be hard sometimes and relationships can suffer a little. I would imagine getting English foods etc would be expensive some things you just miss about where you were brought up, but the life looks amazing and it is an adventure just take the ride and enjoy. i guess not having family and friends can make things hard but i guess change can be hard. love to you all. xxx

Gosh I actually welled up at the end of that video. I can resonate so much with what you said about tapping into childhood hobbies in adulthood and the impact that has on your personality. It makes me so happy to hear that you are beginning to experience that zest for life again. I have been a fan/subscriber from the first apartment decor videos (buying the marble stickers/budget diy Ikea chairs makeover! haha..). I've recently started back in sport again after having my beautiful daughter and I absolutely feel like I'm grounded again and I feel like myself again. I haven't been outdoor playing sport for so long and I feel so much better being back involved. I didn't think it had such an effect on me until you spoke about you reading again... Thank you xx

I'm so happy for you and I've been watching you for years 😊I'm 47 and I lost my mom from cancer when I was 21 and she was only 38 😢so I can relate completely.I can't wait for Halloween and Christmas decor I'm so so excited 😆. Sending lots of love xxx❤

That chat at the end really got me thinking. I too subconsciously felt better the last few days, I didn’t know why. And it was because I hadn’t been on social media so much, and I had chosen to focus on workout out more and doing stretching which I enjoyed as a hobby. I love hearing your thoughts on it all!❤

Moving to the States is a huge adjustment for you and there are no right or wrongs. Feeling settled takes time for you all but especially the children and the dogs. I moved over 40 years ago to the Mediterranean from Wiltshire in the U.K. and I’ve never regretted it, however, if I had returned I would never have felt I was a failure. Life is an adventure and you never know if you don’t go for it. I gave up on British groceries years ago but now with Brexit, the prices are ridiculous! Anyway, the Mediterranean cuisine is one of the healthiest and tastiest in the world! Live for the day!💖🌸

Hi Elle and Connor wow how amazing to have a shop with all UK goods. I’m so happy for you two I know how much you are missing the UK items that is brilliant. 🤩 I think you are both amazing moving to America and I think you have done the right thing moving whilst your two children are very young as it would be easier for them to adapt. I know that parts of you miss the UK that is absolutely valid as you have family and Katy but you will in time when you have found your dream location in the US you will get there. Loved this vlog Ellie, and can I say that I am with you all the way on Acotar. I am literally devouring it now and will be so sad when I complete the series. I was never a fantasy reader either, but Sarah has pulled me into this world and I can’t get enough of it! Also can’t beat a builders tea and a chocolate digestive. As a parent to a child with clubfoot, the best support for all kids feet are any shoes that don't actually bend when you move them, when we look for shoes we make sure the shoe doesn't bend 🥰 great video you are really living life I love it ❤️❤️

Tip for the electricals (if you don't know this already) get someone to send extension cables from B&Q or something and then you can plug toaster and kettle etc into 1 socket but only need one adapter.

Connor was so funny talking about the agricultural machines being different and your face when he did 😂 but I love details like that about how its different to England. I could really relate to what you said about taking time for yourself and making these moments. I think your both very brave to move there and I admire you for it. Kettle Salt and Vinegar Chips/Crisps are the best! You can find them in most grocery stores. The Cape Cod brand is okay as well as Miss Vickie's.

Two things can be true at the same time, like loving where you've moved too, whilst also being homesick, one does not cancel out the other. I remember when I moved stateside from the U.K and started feeling homesick, so we found a quaint little British shop, when I got inside and saw all the British goods I burst out crying. 😂 Look up international stores near you, too, for more of a grocery store feel, usually only one isle for U.K food. I made mince pies the 1st year and spent $40 00. on jars of mincemeat from the International store. I can relate to your British splurge. Oh, and, Conor, there isn't one US tomato soup that taste like Heinz. Not. One. 😂
