Somehow this dub is more authentic as they used real little girls instead of grown up actresses as the voices of little girls. I'm not knocking on the talent of the voice actresses from the first dub, but I felt a stronger connection to these girls as they were voiced by real sisters and the surrounding performance of the adult actors was also genuine. But that's just me. It didn't ruin any part of my childhood or anything like that...

I remember the first time that my family and I saw this film when we were living in Japan. For that time my two daughters were the same age like Satsuki and Mei and we immediately identified with the protagonists. We liked it so much that we went to the ghibli museum and Satsuki and Mei's house in Morikoro Park. it was a dream come true. Thanks so much Mr. Hayao Miyazaki.
