I’ve osteoporosis since I was in my 30s due to a severe eating disorder I developed at 14. It does suck but I hate to complain too much since I’m lucky to still be alive.

Pretty much all women will get some form of Osteoporosis after they hit mesopause which is normal. Later men get it too, it's all part of aging. So is arthritis.

A lot of you are accusing her of "announcing" this for "sympathy." I don't think so. It's not like she put out a press release. The story said it was mentioned in her new standup special. I don't know if any of you have seen stand up comedy before, but standup comedians often reveal things that are going on in their personal lives in the context of delivery narrative-driven jokes. Geeze. It's fine not to like her but his feels like people are twisting what happened to make their broader points about what they don't like about her personality.

👍Good on her. Ditching most carbs in my mid 50's for a low carb, high protein moderate fat diet centred around nutrient dense animal derived foods plus fruut & veg, has seen my arthritis & gout go into remission, & early fatty liver disease markers return to normal & stabilise. An unexpected bonus was improved equanimity. Exclusively plant based /vegan diets are inevitably high in carbs, excessive fibre & many plant compounds which become toxic in excessive amounts, & hence over the long term drive inflammation, depression & anxiety. I aplaud those like Ellen who speak up, especially given how toxic & blamey-shamey the vegan clickeratti are.
