I understand how people are saying: the show should end, I know it's been running for so many years. But I think as long as it makes the viewers, including me, happy, we'd still watch it. It became a comfort show to many people worldwide. Additionally I just hope they don't end it while covid, it already took so much, please don't let the virus be the last thing we remember from Grey's Anatomy, even if they only continue for just one season, just don't end it with covid...

A comfort show is a great way to put it. It's the show I put on when I need to cry, laugh, or even scream. Watching it makes me feel like I can do anything. I mean Meredith (I know I know it's just a show) but she has survived so much it makes me feel like I can face anything!

I have to agree with everyone who’s saying this show cannot end with a covid season. This show has done it all and to end like that wouldn’t be giving the show justice or the ending it deserves. I love Ellen but I also feel like the show hasn’t been the same really since season 10. Cristina yang and Meredith together were amazing ... Derek was still alive .... my fav episodes were the ones with the 3 of them, still a good show just very different

I agree they were sad but so were Lexie & Marks' dying or O'malleys' death. The Derrick & Merideth storyline was the main storyline on Greys' so when Derrick died the writers didn't close enough doors on his death. The storyline seemed rushed, thoughtless and ill-planned. It's probably why the writers needed to bring Derrick back now in some way.

That is odd, when Grey's Anatomy came out, I was thinking I did not want to get into another Medical show. I have watched some and seen them fail. How could anything match or surpass M.A.S.H. or E.R. ? Both shows I watched from being to end. Heart breaking drawn in stories of both Doctors, and Nurses, Staff, and Patient with Families. Because it is the entwinement of all these factors that make for wonderful, unpredictable story telling.

The best part about it, was it was a script that was written about and almost forgotten for years, stopped due to a making of a movie, Michael Crichton is the genius that created E.R. I remember watching the pilot for this show. (Boston Legal was on right behind) I instantly fell in love with Meredith's character. I watched it for 10 years and when just about all the main characters had been killed off or left I was done. Its amazing that this show is going into its 17th season. I wish Ellen the best !!!

I'm realizing now that I'm 14 and she's 51, along with most of the rest of the cast members that are well into their 30s and 40s, sometimes even 60s. I'm realizing that I'll someday have to watch them all die, all my idols, Ellen Pompeo, Caterina Scorsone, Camilla Luddington, Kelly McCreary and everyone else who helped me so much in life. Someday they'll all be gone, and this show will be ancient history. And the thought of that is unbearable.

I've always had respect for Ellen Pompeo, and I love Meredith's character! There's something about Meredith's character that I can so relate to. What an amazing person to have representing what women can really accomplish in this thing we called life. She's the embodiment of how I wish real doctors would be in reality. Speaking from a place where most of the time you go to seek help for whatever ails you and all you get in return is about 5 minutes of listening and then instantly playing the blame game is not fun nor fair. I can't even begin to describe how hurtful, disrespectful and sad that makes someone feel. There have been times in my life where I though to myself, "Wow, if meredith grey was here she would of figure it out." Or I'm going to tell my age here, "Wow, if Mark Greene was here he would of figure it out." So, if anybody takes anything from this, know that you are important and you do matter. Grey’s HAS to end up with Meredith in her mother’s position, exactly how the first season started. With Meredith having Alzheimer’s, living in the same home as her mother had when Mere started off and Zola growing up to become an intern at Grey Sloan Memorial and having to deal with coming from a “Legacy” family! I don’t see it any other way! The ending HAS to have Mere reminiscing when she was an intern and fell in love with Derek, when George, Izzy, Alex and Christina were all very close and competing against one another while still staying friends and joking around!
