Hi Ellen, I found for the stamp, "Craft Smart" premium texture sheets. It came in a set of 3 sheets. One looks like tree bark, one looks a lot like yours, and the final has little round bumps. I'd include a pic, but can't figure out how to add it. I found them at Michaels in the craft clay area.

That’s a really nice painting and I’m picky about my elephants since I worked around them for 15 years and I know them well. ( I also do elephant paintings). Great work!

This painting is fabulous, Ellen! I'd like to try this technique with oils too. Do you think it would work? I have two bottles of ink that I've never used but now I have a reason to try. I really like your uniqueness. Keep up the videos. I do appreciate your time and tips. I've been painting a year now and I am still working on believing in myself and my art. You're a sweet soul. Thank you!

Hi, KK! Hmm....I'm not sure it would work with oils the way I've done it here; they may be too thick? But you could try! I'd love to know your results! So glad to have you here on my channel, thank you for your lovely comment :)

Ellen Brenneman Studio You’re probably right, but I’ll give it a go and see. Will let you know if it works, even with a little tweaking! 😊. You’re an inspiration.

Ellen Brenneman Studio I have sketched out my elephant on yupo 5x7 paper. I couldn't find the 11x14 at the craft stores. When I get around to trying it, I'll let you know how it turns out. I can't Get over how gorgeous your elephant is! So inspired.

Fabulous Ellen! I wonder if those stamps come in other textures? Looking for something to help with curly poodle type hair and this is a great technique!
@EllenBrennemanStudio7 жыл бұрын
Angela, I'm sure there's a stamp for every little thing you can imagine - or even browse for designs that resemble poodle fur. Discovering this resist is key, I think. If there was a scrapbook store near me I"d check there for you. I'd love to see work you do with this technique!
@petitpapillonart30657 жыл бұрын
I will stop at Michaels to check...so it's really the stampabilities ink that gives the resist then....can't wait to try. Stay tuned!
@EllenBrennemanStudio7 жыл бұрын
exactly, Angela! And perhaps other ink pads would do the same thing! I haven't experimented with other colors. I like these because they are pretty transparent so you don't even see the transfer - just the effect. I'm prepping a slowed down time lapse of this so you can see better how it works :)

I've been trying to find the sheet you used for stamping. Is it possible this is a polimure clay stamp? Meant for stamping clay or created by clay I'm not sure. I've been to several major craft stores in my area trying to find anything close but no luck. I did find someone on etsy selling something similar. Thanks for the inspiration! I'm always looking for a new twist. As always, love your work!

Kristine, I will search and see if I can find it. I don't think it's to use with Clay, but I could be wrong about this. I will post back here with more information 😊 thanks for letting me know!

Hi again, Kristine :) I have not forgotten about your question. I am having trouble finding that stamp as well! The next time I'm in my local art stores I will search for them (or at least the maker) so you can have some direction. They have to be out there somewhere! LOL

Did you varnish your work after?
@EllenBrennemanStudio5 жыл бұрын
Glenda, good question! Because acrylic and India inks are lightfast I do not add a protective finish to my work. However, if I have added any alcohol inks in addition then I do spray a non-yellowing protective finish by Krylon.
