Hi everyone! I wanted to clear up some of the questions about my living situation. Living in the dorm for college was something very important to me and was my plan from the start. The back house was available and didn't decide until a few months ago that it would make sense to remove stuff from my LA apartment (my lease was very expensive in LA and didn't make sense to own since I wasn't living there) and move it to the back house to my sisters house. This way I can park my car, work, edit, have phone calls, and be close to my sister. I am very grateful to move my LA apartment stuff into the house and its all because of you guys. I didn't find it fair to my roommate to work, film, edit, take calls inside the dorm which is very small so having this as not only a business write off but a place to work and produce the best content seemed very fitting! I am very grateful for this and am so sorry if I didn't explain it well! All love :)

Julie Lauren KZbinrs have so many business calls, she doesn’t want to bother her roommate when she could be studying or sleeping. It’s probably for business days and a place to film since she can’t really film in her dorm due to her roommates privacy.

I also wanted to say that the house is off-campus and both my roommate and my parents wanted us on campus. The back house would be for weekends that I want to film or upload with Wi-Fi. I planned on living in the dorm for the past year and my sister said no one was living in the back house so it worked to put my LA apartment stuff in it. Hope this cleared everything up, I am super excited to live in the dorm with my roommate and bring you all along❤️ also note that anything in the back house was stuff that I had already previously owned from LA and wasn’t buying double of everything!

To everyone judging her living situation - this girl is an entrepreneur! She works hard and therefore can afford to have 2 places. She wants to have a real college experience (hence the dorms) but is also cognizant of the fact that she needs more space and quiet for filming, editing, etc. (which is part of her JOB!). S Save The Polar bears I think it’s great that she has the ability to afford two spaces and tbh, it does make sense as a dorm room wouldn’t be ideal for creating content etc. However, I wouldn’t say being an ‘influencer’ is ‘working hard’. Sure, you have to have thick skin but not a lot of influencers edit their own videos etc so all they really do is film. It’s not ‘hard’. However she’s successful at it and that’s great

The funny part of everyone in the comments complaining about ellie renting 2 places is that they are thinking of her money as a flat rate and not a percent of her income. Honestly so thoughtful that you have the house too. College is so stressful sometimes so it's nice that she's making sure her roommate has her space and she doesn't disrupt her with her work! I think some people forget that you work, so you have the means to provide that for yourself and there's no shame in that. I had both an apartment and a dorm freshman year, due to some unique challenges that presented themselves. However, I think it was one of the best things I did for myself freshman year. I had a communal place where my friends and I could all hang-out off campus on the weekends, as well as a place my best-friend could park his car for much cheaper than on-campus. I got to spend winter and summer break in my college town without having to find sub-leases and move all my things into storage. I also had a place where I could get away from the noise and hustle of campus, while also having a place where I didn't need to worry about signing people in or out or my roommates feelings about certain friends of mine. At the same time, living in a dorm, I still got that traditional college experience. I got to hangout with people and make new friends in the common rooms. I got to experience 1 AM fire drills during the week and have a place on-campus to crash between my 8 AM and 1 PM class. I had somewhere to stay when it was 2 AM, post-library sessions, and didn't want to call an Uber home. Seriously, college is not a one size fits all type of place and some people thrive having two places in the city they call home. I think if you think it's the best decision, then it will be, honestly!

I am a sophomore in college so I sympathize with her also wanting the dorm experience. It is definitely something to be excited about as a freshman. But honestly, once you actually live in the dorm, you're over it in like a month. The lack of having your own space, having to share a dirty bathroom with people...its honestly not as great as it seems. I did have good times with friends in the dorms but thats not really going to be possible during covid so I don't see a point in wanting the dorm experience right now. Its a waste of money because likely most colleges will be sending people home. I wouldn't even want to live in a dorm during a pandemic. Its like asking to get the virus...

i go to a small boarding school ( im going to 9th grade this is gonna be my third year in a dorm room) our student body is 98 students and we are opening back up. we can open because we are so small and its gonna be easy to track. but for colleges with thousands of people its so dumb. my school has it under control we have a vigorous list of things we have to do before we even step foot on campus and most kids agreed to be in a single dorm. idk i just feel like bigger schools that people reside in should wait..

you are so blessed to have this as your college living experience. Wow, I'm so happy for you. Honestly when i dormed first year of college the freshman dorm was a nightmare in so many different ways. Having a good living space is one of the most important things in your college experience and it's very VERY important for your mental health. im going to 9th grade ive been boarding for 3 years now. but i just paid for a single... thats like 90k+ a year. and thats just for an all girls private boarding school plus a single dorm room plus meal plan. im so thankful and grateful...moving to a single was so worth it im very fortunate and thankful for my parents because god knows i HATE sharing a dorm room with people its the worsttt haha especially with a bunch of 9th through 12th graders people are so inconsiderate and self concerned.. i couldnt do it anymore and i told my dad to just pay for a single haha best decision EVER my grades started to pick back up and i was so happy !! i wish the roommate assignment system was better and they actually took the time to find someone who was ACTUALLY compatible with you. because believe it or not having a bad roommate situation can mess up ur sleep, which messes up ur attitude, which messes up ur grades + social life. im so sorry u guys had bad experiences

Not sure if U of A requires it but the only reason I can think of is some schools’ first years are required to live on campus. I get the office part but for the bedroom maybe it’s because she already had the furniture so she just rolled with it? It still feels iffy with how there are always students whose only options are dorms and she’d be taking residence while having a whole backhouse to herself

I went to Texas Tech and they required us to live in the dorms as a freshman. She has no choice and she’s not being selfish and taking someone else’s living space. Arizona probably is making her stay in the dorms

these comments 🤦🏽‍♀️ guys, obviously she has a little more money than the average person her age (and she works her ass off for it too) and the fact she is using it to go to college, and not on parties & drugs like most people in that industry, is amazing. she is such a great role model. she works hard af and gets to use HER money the way she wants (which could be in a wasteful way but she’s choosing to use it for her future and education) so please respect her and enjoy the video or just click off and work on yourself 🥰

I’m sorry I’ve never been so confused in my life😭 so she already paid for a dorm with her friend, but now she’s moving to this house? and so what I’ve read from the comments it’s a “back house” (term I didn’t know it even exist) of her sister’s house? and like her sister’s house is also inside the college or is it like close? I don’t get anything omg. (AND before anyone attacks me saying why I don’t get it, it’s not my fault. I live in Mexico and university experience is so different. Dorms don’t exist and etc. so I find all these college situation confusing)
