I loved how smart this house is internally. You don't need huge living spaces when you have storage organised well. This is so far the best starter home layout that I looked at, based on my living habits.

That living room is so dark that I thought it was windowless. It's also very small. @13:51, you are going to burn something on the towel rail as you step into the shower. That bath is surprisingly big. The showroom has been decorated to distract, but I would have a tape measure handy to check the size of the rooms. Overall, the house is too small to weather everyday use by a family and looks flimsy in places.

Utility "room" (actually a cupboard) is totally inadequate. Need space for 2 appliances plus a sink, plus storage for ironing board and iron, cleaning materials. Corner cupboard needs a carousel. Integrated fridges are dreadful if you're under 5'8". Kitchen is small. Bedroom with en-suite is tiny. Inadequate clothes storage for 2 people. No storage in en-suite for cosmetics, etc. Same problem in family bathroom.

Shocking! The size of the master bedroom is atrocious! I live in a 2 bed new build and the master bedroom is more than twice that size… Also the size of the living room window is unbelievable…. Mine is bigger and I still need lights on during the day. Finally the lack of shower in the master bathroom is unacceptable in 2022. Despite having one in the en suite.

I think it’s a good value home for the price and has some very nice features like the large living room and the great storage with extra closets up and downstairs, as well as the handy utility room. But like you two, I noticed the windows immediately and they made the home feel boxed in and not bright. One tiny single window in the living room and the master bedroom at the front of the house is a large drawback. I don’t know why they went that way as it appears a complete design choice and not a space reason. And on another design choice, I had the same question as someone else did about the ovens. Why on earth would someone need two small ovens but not need one large oven? Otherwise, the kitchen was quite nice.

Hi Guys Great house tour as always👍🏽 I’m gonna be honest .. it’s a little tight looking .. Window in the living room too small, room too dark... the down stairs loo .. too big.. I prefer more space given to cupboard to hang coats.. a must! Under the stairs utility... a no no... no door.. too near to living room.. where is the fridge in the kitchen ? The shower door should open left to right .. not right to left, as the towel rail is too close.. you could burn yourself getting into that shower.. Property is lovely as it’s new.. but too many little things.. not enough space.. it looks like a home for a couple before moving into a bigger property to start their family or a single person ...

It looks as though the window designs change from development to development. The Kingsley at Ladden Garden Village, Yate, has floor to ceiling windows in the living room and Bedroom 1.

Ah yes the Barratt Homes, i think they`ve had more complaints than the houses they`ve built, i remember these being built in the 1980`s, alot of the owners turned out to be stuck up`s, snotty nosed "i`ve got a Barratt home!" typo`s, i also vaguely remember Barratt being featured in a documentary about the shoddyness of some of the workmanship from the builders..Those houses were thrown up in quick time and they were always going up for sale.

If you are thinking of buying a new house take a tape measure with you. Don’t get bogged down with the the decor, plus with this house where would the children’s stuff go and we all know children accumulate tons of stuff.

Some of the windows were far too small, especially lounge and main bedroom, hence the strange oversized curtains. The bedroom sizes are very small, better to have just 3 usable rooms. I wouldn't have enough space for my clothes or shoes in the main bedroom. Now remember why we have a house built in 1935, bigger rooms and large windows.

You did a great job guys but that house gives claustrophobic vibes. It made me cringe. Walking sideways down the side of the bed, the meanest ovens and windows I’ve ever seen. A laundry with no space for a dryer and laundry basket, not to mention no sink to hand wash in. They certainly scrimped on that one. Awful. Good try though Elliot.

It’s all rather depressing,isn’t it? The living room with one tiny little window , and all that dark wallpaper. The kitchen with no room for a sideboard or extra storage, more grey, and those awful,Barbie doll twinkly work tops. Bedrooms with no space for a chest of drawers. Sorry, 5/10 for house design, 3/10 for interior design.

The gardens do vary from plot to plot even on the same development so it’s always best to check the site plan if you are interested in reserving a property. We do point out loft access points but it’s not really feasible to go up looking as there are no ladders.

My comment is directed at everyone in the industry: most house builders on their adverts show absolutely nothing about these matters and often garage dimensions are not even quoted like if nobody cared when actually they are integral part of the properties like gardens and driveways. I think the industry has and must do a lot better. I would add the same for entrance halls another feature that has disappeared from most new builds (up to 4 bedrooms) such is the greediness about less space for you = more money for us.
