Stunning house. Bland interiors / massive devoid of creative expression

I so agree with you! This greige that seems to have taken over just about everything is so monotonous. Safe I suppose for those with no colour confidence or imagination. They then dress it up as 'tasteful...' This house is crying out for colour!

The façade is AMAZING! So sad the interiors… turning these homes into contemporary apartments that we find everywhere and ripping their character off… cruelty! I live in a 1800´s Victorian home, all the amazing details and character intact. If I ever wanted to live in a contemporary place, I would have purchased a loft in a contemporary building! To find my home, I went through so many beautiful homes that had been ripped off their character… until I finally found one that was still intact! How I adore my home!

I would have liked if the addition had some of the same Victorian details that the original building had. The moldings and medallions on the ceiling, so that you couldn't immediately tell that it was an addition. If I get the opportunity to build my dream house, I want it to have some of these Victorian details throughout.

Beautiful place. I've always said that if i hit the jackpot i'd buy a big old victorian house in somewhere like Crystal palace in south London thats been ruined by turning it into flats and restore it back into one big house. It wouldnt be cheap and would probably be a nightmare of a project but it would be soooooo worth it

Wonderful house - well presented I have lived in 3 huge houses and sorry to burst the bubble but you really have to limit your aspirations. It's all about a house being a comfortable and manageable home. Where I've lived the houses were so big it came with terrible limitations. We could never keep the place warm, always seemed draughty, we could never find each other, walked for miles around the house just to get anywhere, could never hear the front door and had to carry a beeper to help, so many rooms spent all day cleaning, gardens were unmanageable so in the end we had to employ people to do it for us, removing the 'homeliness' we all want. We couldn't 'pop' to the shop cos we had to check all around to make sure everything was locked!! In the end it seemed like the house owned us. Exhausting!

Absolutely captivated by this stunning Victorian villa in Ealing! The meticulous restoration work that blends traditional Victorian elegance with modern comforts is truly remarkable. Each room exudes a unique charm, from the ornate fireplaces to the high ceilings and detailed architraving. The kitchen, with its central island and state-of-the-art appliances, is a dream for any home chef. It's also wonderful to see how the garden provides a peaceful retreat in the midst of London. Well laid out? There are three small reception rooms, a separated dining room and a separated kitchen. Small chopped up rooms except the kitchen. No way to host more than 6 people; unless they all meet in the kitchen? Main floor needs a total redo; combine kitchen/DR into one big room, move DR to one of the front reception rooms (the old garage) and keep other reception room as a reading room. As is is useless for a house this size.

@@rickroll9086 One reception room and it's sufficient. The dining table as shown seats 10 and there's space to the garden and to the adjoining room. Click the link and view the floor plan. Bear in mind, the layout that works for you doesn't necessarily work for everyone.

@tomr6712 It is a wild evaluation. 1.5 million max. All they’ve done is spent a few hundred grand on renovation on a million pound house and put a 4 million pound price tag on it to see if there were any takers. A desperate buyer with money or good credit to mortgage will entertain this type of property. This isn’t for smart buyers.

I usually dont like gray spaces and modern interior design in general, but i think this was done exceptionally well. I just dont understand the british obsession with building houses right on top of each other though, the neighbors are so close that you can only have windows on the front and back of the house. Might as well call this an apartment.

If it was a Victorian house originally, what happened to the carriage house/stable? It wouldn't have been where the indoor garage used to be. Maybe it was demolished for the extension.
