Strange Magic is Jeff Lynnes Good Vibrations. Songs lik thoe are defined by certain special effects. The whooshing acoustic guitar sound is what attracted me to Strange Magic. The electro theremin is what attrated me to Good Vibrations.

Yeah, the 1970s were fun for me too. At my high school now, we have a fence around the whole school. Cops on site. The only time a cop would show up was 2 guys got in a fight. Mano a mano. No more. Yeah, times were truly different.

We grew up often listening to these songs in tiny transistor radios with tiny little speakers, not always able to hear them in full stereo so it’s nice to hear the same songs today with better equipment

Bev used to sing backup during his days with The Move (and actually did a couple of lead parts as well). Listen to the chorus on "I Can Hear The Grass Grow" and you can hear his low tone. All of the early Move members (Roy Wood, Ace Kefford, Trevor Burton, Carl Wayne and Bev) could sing.

A very happy 74th Jeffrey Lynne 30 December 1947. A few rock voices are iconic. Your's is one of the few. Born in Erdington, Birmingham England.. And a member of the world famous Traveling Wilburys. Miss George, Roy and of course Tom.

The 70s were great, I was fortunate to live the 70s. Loved ELO, I remember the first time I heard one of their songs. I was on Okinawa with the United States Marine Corps. It was played on AFRN (Armed Forces Radio Network) Okinawa. I'd go back to the 70s and even repeat my 4 years in the Marine Corps 1973-1977. Semper Fi from an old Marine Sergeant.

One of my favorite songs of all time. It takes me back to the year I got married, 1976. Jeff Lynne's vocals are amazing, as are the backup vocals. The live version featured here is very good, but can never be as good as the original recording.

The original line up was Roy Wood, Jeff Lynne, Bev Bevan and Rick Price. So you're not even close with this set. By now you're on bass player no 3, violinist no 3, there are 2 previous cellists at least, a missing french horn player and so on...
