Agreed 👍. I had an engineering challenge on my house I was building. The building inspector tells me I need a lam-beam to support the cathedral ceiling in the master bedroom. Ceiling height it 15 feet. BTW, the roof is finished. The lam beam is 22 feet, 18 inch webbing , 3.5 inches thick. Weight 600 lbs. With some rigging and a cat-head, my wife and raised it into place. After all said and done, the master bedroom ceiling is 13 feet, 6 inches. Awsome feat of DYI engineering.

What Elon is saying is you don't always need "strength" to do the impossible. You need purpose. To think that you need strength immediately puts you in the camp of resistance and you make it even harder than it needs to be. You simply surrender to the process. No motivation or strength needed. When you say you need strength, you automatically tell yourself you're weak. Weak people can't do anything.

Elon took a few seconds here to consider Lex's point of view, as it was his first time seeing it in that spectrum. He put himself in that position and went through his whole upbringing with that mindset, until finally reaching a failure point. That's when he had his answer: 'Fuck that!' 🙂
@infinitespiritsound2 жыл бұрын
Now THAT is the answer. There is no how to. You can read your life away reading self help books and how to’s. All that matters is you gotta have that natural inclination and desire to just do whatever yo have to go do to get it done, and you will. This is what I hate about philosophy. It just goes around in circles and isn’t very practical at a certain point.
@rubenmendezhoms34882 жыл бұрын

@@rubenmendezhoms3488 I’m not, but it’s basically the same thing. It’s a dead end cycle of over-intellectualizing. If you want to get something done, you just get it done.
@MrDavidinho962 жыл бұрын
@@infinitespiritsound yeah i kinda agree with you. I love philosophy, and ive read a lot of it, but i feel that at the end is just an overationalization of the world, and it lacks practicality. Just get out there, do shit and get experiential learning, not so much intelectual
@rubenmendezhoms34882 жыл бұрын
@@infinitespiritsound On that, I agree. But with philosophy you can extract true meaning that can guide the needed action. To act without thinking is just as bad as thinking without acting. I think balance is required. Self-help is just deformed psychology that treats people as stupid narcissists (maybe that's mostly what we are).
