Brad Gibson came out in 1971 so yeah 5 years old at the time
@diron12707 жыл бұрын
Andrew Campofredano Nope. Goodbye Yellow Brick Road was not to be released until the year of 1973. The record was only three years old at the time.
@bradgibson8567 жыл бұрын
Misses the point I was trying to make. I found it interesting that he referred to it as one of his old ones then, when it is now 40 years later. And his songs are brillant and enduring unlike the machine generated pop noise today. How much of the current playlists will be viewed on KZbin 3 or 5, or 40 years from now? My guess: not many. But thanks for mentioning the album release date. Helps put it into perspective.
@diron12707 жыл бұрын
Brad Gibson You are very much right, his songs are forever lasting, few artists have ever achieved what he has. The mere fact that he was the first artist in the world to enter the Billboard top 100 at first place is really quite stunning. And he thought the song was old back then... I know I will be listening to it when it turns a hundred years old.

I remember watching a show with my Mom a few years ago I was sitting on her bed in her bedroom watching her tv with her and I saw elton john performing this song I was listening to the music and loving it so much this song made me feel a type of way I can't explain. My mom died of cancer when I was 11 years old I'm 13 now I miss her more than anything. But i forgot what this song was called, and for some random reason today I don't know why but I was rushing to find it because I just needed to hear it. This song reminds me of my mom and I am so glad Elton john's song yellow brick road can help me feel closer to my mom when I miss her. Whenever I listen to this song I get a little sad because it reminds me of my mom but she is sadly passed away and I can't see her ever again. I'm glad I searched for this song today. I love you mommy I promise I will make you proud of me🙏❤️ R.I.P mommy

Love Elton, huge fan. Saw Elton John at Rich Stadium/Orchard Park (Buffalo) on a miserable rainy day in August 1976. We got drenched and muddy but fab concert. Elton was brilliant and felt bad about the rain. We took a concert tour bus out of Toronto to attend but so worth it. Kiki Dee made an appearance with Elton singing "Don't Go Breaking My Heart" and Boz Scaggs/Silk Degrees performed their hits and John Miles also performed but didn't really know of him.
