Elton John is broken so badly by these deaths that all he can do is perform for the loved ones of these people who passed away. That's how he can keep his composure. He knows it's either being emotional or singing.

I'm alive because of Ryan White. It's the Ryan White care act which enables me to get the antiretroviral medication that keeps my HIV at a undetectable level. That medication is $2,800 a month and there's no way i could afford that. Thank you Ryan

Can’t believe it’s been 28 years today. I was only 2 when he passed. All throughout my school years, I learned how brave he was, giving the dire circumstances. I am now a teacher in my hometown of Indy and each year, I take my students to his gravesite in Cicero as well at the Children’s Museum in Indy to educate how important he was in his short 18 years. Still fly on Ryan. You are still touching lives almost 30 years later.

Some of them did. Elton said in his book that at the funeral some of the people who treated him so badly came to his mom and apologized for it and she forgave them, which just left Elton amazed!

I was in this place once, so wacked out on drugs that I think if i died no one would come to see me off, I sat at my piano for hours, waiting for someone to save me. The angels never came, but this song did and its context to this poor kids situation. It just shatters my soul and it fixed me. If theres a god i hope he heaped his blessing upon this poor son.

Thats the look of a man who was humbled by a young kids death. You can feel the power as Elton was ready to make a decision to get sober for good. If you are in recovery this story makes some good out of such sorrow. Elton sang for his soul and the angel there to grace him. Whew keeps me going...

It's been 34 years, and we still miss Ryan. What he taught us; what he still brings to the table. What his contracting AIDS and dying did for the world, and for Elton. I've watched many videos of this over the years and I am still crying uncontrollably. P.S. I still have a copy of People Mag with Ryan on the cover.

I will never forget such a curagous and strong young man like Ryan. he taught so many and I am very blessed to have known about him. he's changed my life. I now see the world differently. He's taught me to live each day like it's my last . it's amazing how such a young boy changed and inspired so many people. I hope to one day visit his grave and pay my respects. I remember hearing about Ryan being diagnosed with AIDS on the news. Him and I were the same age. Then many years later found out he passed away. This video brings tears to my eyes. The way people treated him was inhumane. Especially James O Smith. The man who refused to let Ryan go back to school. Shame on him and everyone else who treated him so horribly. He was just a kid. An innocent child.

This is the first time I have ever burst into tears listening to an Elton John song I mean Candle in the Wind is a sad song but for some odd reason it never made me cry but only feel sad. But this version of Skyline Pigeon combined with this being done for Ryan White and because my grandfather passed away last year just makes me lose it. His father was an architect was almost interned with other Japanese-Americans during the Second World War, but his employer vouched for him. You might be familiar with some of us work. He was the architect of The World Trade Center in New York City.
