Elton On "Billy Elliot"

Elton John sat down with Katie Couric and spoke candidly about his latest project, a musical version of the film, "Billy Elliot."

He was one of the first concerts I saw and he is partly a reason I became a professional musician, especially since we’re both piano players. I’m not even close to being on his level, but his inspiration was paramount to the success I did achieve.

Boys are taught the mechanics within the art . . . and then begin to realize the need for the 'animal' strength of all the lifts and his own endurance . . . and STILL . . . somehow keeps the elegance of the pit. So nice.
