Just came across your video and must say after watching only for 3 minutes yours is one the best videos if seen so far - clear and to the point with no rambling. Will keep on watching.

Thank you for the video! As a teacher in Russia, I see TTT as an advantage rather than disadvantage - a chance for my students to show that we (Russians) can speak not just say sentences. I remember the first time they saw and heard my talking on the phone with a native - amazed and taken aback. "Can you really understand when they are speaking so fast and with no stops?" "Will you teach us to speak like you?" "Can you speak for an hour?" were my students' questions. What I always do is monitor my speech and choose the words they have already learnt. Sometimes I even ask things out of blue - "What time is it now?" "Is it time for a short break already?" "Is that a cat I can see behind you?". They are irrelevant questions in terms of goals. However, they help them use the language freely and spontaneously.

Thank you for such an inspirational video! I especially liked the point about being more animate and not just sitting still before the screen. Something for me to work on ))

You are really making a difference in teacher's lives.Thank you for your videos.I request you to please make a video on how to design gist questions please.

Femina Shaikh hmm- they’re tricky! You could look on the Receptive skills videos for a few ideas but it’s never easy. Try prediction tasks or a multiple choice of titles, perhaps?

Thanks 😍😍😍 that was really useful, specially the timing problem.
@sankinasan4 жыл бұрын
A good point about timing. Two minutes always become five and so on. Our tutors recommended starting planning from the very end of the lesson - from the freer practice. So I always put aside around 20 minutes for it which turned into 10 minutes during TPs =) And about annotating the screen. When there are around 10 students it can get messy, so it's better to clarify how we want them to annotate it.

Happy Leaning - congratulations on getting your place. If the centre ha e accepted you, they think you can pass, so don’t worry too much. They’ll have given you a pretty course task so do that and have a look at the videos on my site elt-training.com. A lot of trainees find the Grammar for language teachers course there helpful 😀

Are salaries automatically higher for celta holders?
@elttraining4 жыл бұрын
Not necessarily, I guess, but you are more likely to get work in a more reputable school if you have a recognised qualification ...
