I think a dark green with gold trim would look really nice for an “Elvish” theme. Regardless of what colors you end up going with, I’m sure it’ll still look awesome!

For the color scheme, I personally feel that since this is supposed to be an elven lord, it should be a dark forest green as the main color, with either a gold or silver trim on it.

For stitch-hole chisels I've seen people take an old metal fork, trim the prongs shorter, and sharpen the ends, and for a single-prong one for tighter curves I've taken a nail, clipped the tip with wire-cutters and sharpened it.

I don't think you can do Elven Armor without greens, but the forest isn't just the leaves... I'd love to see some ombre color changing, from head to toe, starting off with a "free sky" blue in the helmet, a vibrant green, and maybe some white highlights like clouds. The vibrant green would travel throughout the whole armor, but blend with darker greens and maybe even purples in the chest, how some leaves will have colorful variegation, and into browns (dirt) and dark greys (stone) in the legs. Sky blue to "fresh growth" bright green ombre on the shoulders, perhaps highlights on the gauntlets, could tie the eye back to the helm. I'm sure I'm overthinking it, but you have so many 2 color suggestions, I'd love to see something that stretched across a broader color pallet, but I have no idea if something like ombre is even possible with leather... patches of light and dark, I've seen, but I'd think a smooth color transition would be a challenge worth tackling. ;-)

Question about the tools, the metal "dishing stump" that you used to shape the leather where did you get it? Or how did you make it? Side note I say dishing stump because that's the closest thing I know to compare it too im sure there's a true name but I not know it

I just give the waxed thread end a smush to make it flat to pass through the eye of the needle. For colors, what about silver or bronze with a hint of a tarnish color accent. Or something like The Chronicles of Riddick armor colors of those half dead warrior guys.
@Princearmory2 жыл бұрын
I am tempted to do something metallic. But I also want it to fit the elven trope for broader appeal. Tough call
@RebelYell952 жыл бұрын
@@Princearmory That's why I suggested metallic with tarnish accent. Those that want to keep it shiny can just leave off the tarnish accent color. When I think of elvish armor I picture Lord of the Rings elven warriors in their shining armor, but even beauty tarnishes. Green and black elven armor has been done to death in my opinion. But tarnished bronze and maybe hunter green would be nice. Oh, you could always do a metallic or opalescent green 🤔 (I'm updating my comment as ideas come to me.)

Ok so first of i must say it looks epic. Truely a beauty. But well... i would hesitste to call this a Helmet. I mean no offense by this you understand, but the point with a helmet is to Protect, right? A bicycle helmft protects your head if you fall/crash, preventing skull fractures. And a "medieval" helmet protecrs agains lacerations and kinetic force... So what would this protect against? It has no padding so it would do nothing against kinetic, and it wouldnt protect against a blade. Its a very nice hat that looks like a helmet, and i dare say it would be a good start for padding in a helmet. But a Helmet it is not. Sorry for being pedantic, and i truely do not mean this as a critiqe of your leathercraft. It looks amazing and its clearly well done. So what would thi
