Can I use curve just like catch. They look same to me
@NewLittleLife3 жыл бұрын
The curve has suction, the catch does not. So yes, you can just put the curve in your bra with no suction and use it like the catch! But it’s more expensive and works much better when the suction is applied.

I bought the Elvie catch cups and the Elvie Curve after watching this video. Thank you for these recommendations because they have been great!! I had a major oversupply problem with my 1st baby so I thought these could help with my second. My second baby is 4 weeks old now and I’ve loved using the Elvie catch for chafing and sore nipples. The Elvie Curve is good but it doesn’t catch more than 2 ounces or so...but I love how discreet it is compared to the Haka and Medela Harmony. I used the Medela Harmony to reduce engorgement and when I had mastitis. It’s really my favorite, but awkward to use around others.

I wish I had watched this video before I got the curve, think what I was looking for but didn’t know existed was the actual pump for 250, even though they both say pump. My wrong for not doing enough research, 50 bucks was kind of too good to be true for a single electric breast pump. Still gonna try it out though now thanks to your video, I was just going to return it because even after the instructions I still didn’t “get it”. Thanks for explaining all three!

When would you use the curve vs the pump? Like what situation? correct me if I’m wrong.(still learning) The catch would be to wear in my bra like all day just to catch any leakage. You would wear it instead of a nursing pad.
@Imaginary2473 жыл бұрын
You'd use the curve when you're in public breastfeeding since it's more discreet. That way, you can catch the leaks, instead of losing them in a breast pad.
@alliegriffin1274 Жыл бұрын
I plan to wear the curve when I'm breastfeeding on the other side. And I'll use the pump when I'm not nursing. Yes, the catch is kind of like a pad, you can wear it for 3 hours, then you need to let your nipples breathe for a bit.
@karehna6202 Жыл бұрын
@@alliegriffin1274 Ohhh!! Wow I didn't know that! I thought your breastmilk just stays in until you pump! Got it, so I need the suction AND the pump?
@alliegriffin1274 Жыл бұрын
@@karehna6202 the curve provides suction like a hakaa, and the catch just catches what leaks. You'll want a pump pump for more stimulation and pump-ability. Your breasts will/can leak, especially the first few months, without any type of suction, so the catch will be helpful in collecting what leaks without wasting it

Hi I'm a first time mommy and I already have the electric pump but thinking about to get the curve or the catch. I understand the Catch and the Pump, still a bit in doubt with the Curve. I have 3 questions: Can you advise or explain why would you use the Curve and not the Electric Elvie Pump while breastfeeding? Can I use the Catch for the let down milk, or is that too small? Can I use the Curve without a bra? Please advise or explain, I appreciate it very much!

So I did know the difference between the Catch vs the Curve before watching this video and, while I love your wealth of information, I was really hoping for a bit more information to know which is right for me. Being a first time mom in the near future, I can only guess at what I might need, but it would be more helpful to hear from your experience in what situations you use which (Catch or Curve)! Would you mind sharing? I saw your answer to another comment to this video, in which I *think* you suggested the Catch to wear in lieu of nursing pads (so, just out and about catching little leaks) and the Curve for catching let down milk from the other breast while breast feeding (and also to help milk flow when it's not flowing as it should). Is my interpretation of your post somewhat accurate? Thank you!!
@NewLittleLife3 жыл бұрын
Yes, you’ve got it! Both are great products, or you’re interested in drawing a bit extra milk to save or feed, the curve would be great. If you just want something to catch leaks but don’t want to mess with gathering extra milk or worry about keeping an eye on your supply (watch for oversupply with frequent suction removal) the catch is great for that. I’ll add this topic to a list on my IGTV videos! Thanks!

Thank you for this video! I purchased both the Curve and Catch for my upcoming 3rd baby, but is there ever a situation where I would use one more than the other? Would it be bad to exclusively use the curve in lieu of the catch? I’m wondering if I will get my money’s worth and have an opportunity to regularly use both, or if I should return one of them since both essentially collect milk.
@NewLittleLife3 жыл бұрын
It depends I guess, the catch comes with 2 so they are nice milk catchers. Reusable as well so you’d go through less nursing pads. The curve will help you remove some milk, usually while feeding on the other side or in a pinch where one side needs a little help! It’s kinda bulky for every day wearing and only comes with one. Does that answer your question? If you only keep one, I’d keep the curve I think 🤔

@Circean1612 жыл бұрын
Why exactly did you say to be cautious of using the elvie curve a lot in the beginning? My first child's bf journey was awful and I'm worried I won't pump/feed enough in the beginning and will have low supply again. I'm probably going to pump exclusively so I can make sure he's eating enough. I'm looking into getting an elvie because it didn't work for me to be attached to a wall pumping for hours and I know that was part of my downfall the first time.
@NewLittleLife2 жыл бұрын
We sometimes see an “oversupply” created when alot of extra milk is removed on top of what baby needs to feed. If your planning on exclusively pumping the curve wouldn’t be much use to you, did that answer your question?

Did you watch the video? It may answer your questions! The curve will not empty your breasts. It’s meant for collecting your let down milk (a maybe a bit more), often while the baby eats on the other side. If you want to actually pump, you need the electric pump. Hope that helps!

You can wear it to catch milk, sure! You can also use the milk no problem. Maybe 4 hours max for using the milk? I personally wouldn’t wear this all day. A breast pad is much more discreet and easy to use. The catch is awesome while your nursing though to catch the let down with no extra suction like the curve, or to give your nipples a break if they’re sore or need some air.
