Just think! Pres. Carter was over 10 years older than Elvis, but still outlived him by 47 yrs! This shows how short a "public" life that the World had to enjoy Elvis Presley! R.I.P. to both Elvis & Pres. Carter!

Rex Martin's ELVIS Moments in Time; Elvis - How sick he really was :( Have plenty of kleenex on hand. Picture of Governor Jimmy and Roselyn Carter and Elvis backstage BEFORE show, Atlanta, GA. JUNE 30, "1973" :) :) Statement from President Jimmy Carter at Elvis' passing; AUG. 17, "1977". "Elvis' death deprives our Country of a part of our self. He was UNIQUE and IRREPLACIABLE. More than 20 years ago, he BURST upon the scene with an IMPACT that was UNPRESCEDENTAL and WILL probably NEVER be equaled His Music and his personality, fused the style of white country and black rhythm and blues, permanently changed the face of American popular culture. His following was immense, and he was a SYMBOL to people, the World over of the vitality, rebelliousness, and good humor of his Country. Elvis' LEGACY is a REMINDER of the incredible cultural impact ONE PERSON CANE HAVE". Carter said. I still "tear" up hearing/reading Governor/President Jimmy Carter's TRIBUTE to Elvis. Phoenix; The Elvis Forum; Memories of Elvis FOUND! Hosted by Ann-Margret 1977-78 [you'll hear some of Jimmy Carter's words coming from Ann-Margret, also :) :) ] TWO video versions of the Tribute/Honor to Elvis. 1st paragraph CLICK blue print; 2nd paragraph CLICK blue print--that's the one my antenna TV (in those days), Broadcasted.

A lot of the Memphis mafia members were saying in a documentary I watched sometime ago that Elvis was growing paranoid and kind of a little out of it. I don't know how true this was, but they do hint in the Elvis movie that the colonel probably put the idea in Elvis' head that he was getting death threats, it wouldn't surprise me if that were true. It's sad to learn all of this. Thanks for sharing.

This all happened just a couple of months before Elvis’ death. It was obvious from this incoherent call that Elvis was in serious trouble. I wish some of his ‘friends’ could have helped him more! So sad. But it doesn’t take away the love we still have for the great man. If only he could see how much the world still loves him and his music today. A legend indeed.

Elvis was The KING! And although his closest friends were part of his inner circle, they still worked for him and he was the King. So trying to tell him what to do was very risky. A couple years earlier, he had taken his gun and shot his television set over something he saw that he didn’t like. The drugs he had abused, made him even more unstable and hence, more dangerous not only to himself but to those close to him as well.

@@terrygarcia897 Marty Lacker always said that the only 2 people who could have had Elvis forcibly helped would have been Priscilla while they were married and Elvis’ father. Marty said Elvis wasn’t bad enough for Priscilla to do anything but in the later years some of the MM did go to Vernon but to no avail. Vernon did hire a PI to find out where he was getting some of the drugs but as far as we know, that’s where it ended. Everyone around him pretty much had their hands tied as Joe Esposito said because he would just fire you if you pushed too hard and that probably included his father.

Like any druggie, they are their own worst enemy. Elvis had a strong personality, thought he knew best, and by the end, because of certain health issues, he did need some of these "medications". I think that is why he kept the MM around and left any executive meeting and let Parker handle them. Anita Wood said that Elvis told her about Hollywood and its like hell out here. He never went to others parties after a very short time, everyone came to him that he invited. Priscilla cant get enough of it. So wrong for each-other. Lisa loved Memphis but did nothing about it. One thing that SHOULD be noted is that Elvis had sleeping hours that were HIS sleeping hours, and if he wasn't FULLY awake, and was completely caught off guard, well, well, well, ah, he PROBABLY was very drowsy, and everything that can happen with ALL of us in the situation he was in, well, it may, or it WON'T go as smoothly as it normally would... He called Carter when HE was ready and prepared to talk!!! I LOVE all of (I've only read the top two so far, and I hope they keep showing POSITIVE) the comments saying how Elvis was trying to help his friend, by phoning the president!! And what about that gas station attendant who was about to be attacked by those bullies in the SAME month, after his concert in Madison, like Captain Marvel, Elvis jumps out of his limousine, runs across the street, faces the attackers, and ends up saving the kid, and diffusing the dangerous situation!!!!!

@@locksmithsilva1163I've read the book and researched everything possible and I really think she could possibly be Elvis's Daughter. Elvis met her Mom Lucy just as he was becoming famous at 18. All the things that were stated in the book she would only know if she was around. Elvis and Lucy kept there love story for 20+ years. They only saw each other every now and again. Lucy had a love poem written by Elvis, that has been verified by 5 top handwriting specialist, they all said 100% it's Elvis's handwriting. The most famous handwriting specialist is Charles Hamilton who put his 50 years reputation on the line. To many things point to the story being true. Lucy who had the secret love affair with Elvis never told her Daughter Desiree that Elvis was her Dad and she never told Elvis either. Desiree sent of for her birth certificate when she was 18 and found out she was Desiree Presley. She looks a lot like Elvis, high cheek bones, square chin, lips, eyes etc. A picture of Desiree when she is 10 looks just like Elviss photo when he was a kid with a cold sore on his lip. Lucy is dead now but Desiree just wants to know the truth. She asked for a DNA and no one will give her one. She doesn't want any money or anything from the estate, she doesn't need it. A publisher tracked Lucy down for 4 years to ask Lucy about her love affair. She has letters too, which she wouldn't part with. She called Desiree Desiree that was Elvis's pet name for Lucy. Desiree was mentioned in Charlie Hodges book and in Elvis and Kathy's book. I just feel sorry for Desiree, she just wants to know once and for all if Elvis is her Dad. The book is called "are you lonesome tonight" written but Dary Matera who has written over 20 books. It's such a beautiful love story and a day before he died he phoned Lucy crying and he said he wants to tell everyone about him and Lucy she said it's been awful for me too, who's Ginger are you going to marry her, Elvis said no, it's just someone they chose for me. My Daughter almost died in a car accident and Elvis said what's her name and she said Desiree, Elvis stopped crying and said how old is she and have you got something to tell me, she said not over the phone. He said are you saying I've got 2 Desiree's. Sorry I'm waffling to much, I just wish Desiree could get a DNA test and find out, it's so sad.

Vernon's grandmother had many children from different men but named them all Presley. So many books & research has been done on Elvis. That shotgun shack house Elvis grew up in was fixed up for the public. They were very poor with newspapers as insulation and a dirt floor and not enough food. Vernon had a bad back& went to jail for a bad check and Gladys was the worker.

I’ve heard the story before. I’m not sure why people dismiss Elvis assertion that he was being shadowed by dark forces or what he meant as being ridiculous. After all he died shortly afterwards . After possibly being given something. Who knows , I keep an open mind

Criminal charges Klein was indicted and convicted of mail fraud in 1977. Klein, the former program director for WHBQ radio Memphis, went to trial after being indicted on four counts of conspiring with a former postal employee to steal Arbitron diaries. Klein was acquitted of three mail fraud charges, but found guilty on one count of conspiracy and sentenced to 60 days in federal prison.[10][11]

There is "a" video and Article about President's FORD'S daughter COMPLAINED to the Ski Resort that Elvis and the guys were out most of the night snowmobiling around the properties! She told HER FATHER, THE PRESIDENT! ! Somebody needs to tell Elvis there are RULES and REGULATIONS at the Ski Resort! ! She wrote a "nasty" letter about Elvis not obeying the Resorts Rules and Regulations that was Published in the Resort local Newspaper! ! Elvis . . .got. . ."M-A-D"! ! ! I think this was the second time Elvis wanted to go Skiing, Linda Thompson was there. Packed up and left ! ! ! ! ! Then Ford's daughter asked HER FATHER, THE PRESIDENT to TELL ELVIS. . ."she" wanted to meet him"? ? Elvis. . . .B L E W U P :) :) :) I hope you can find the youtube video and the Article :)

@@johnnyintrieri I wasn't into Politics back then. And Vernon Presley had Elvis' last Concert shown on antenna TV (no cable at that time), AND Memories of Elvis hosted by Ann-Margret 1977/1978 The OCEAN of TEARS us Elvis Fans went through . . . . . . . . . . Earlier this year "2024" some one wanted to know IF Elvis went skiing? ? ? This person was referring to what was in Child Bride; Elvis stopped by in his snowmobile suit to show Lisa "something" ? ? a car? ? ? p. beaulieu MOCKED, made FUN of Elvis in that snowmobile suit. I checked youtube videos first! That lead me to a DATE and Ski Resort! There was TWO times Elvis went skiing, once with p. beaulieu & Lisa and boys! Next time Linda Thompson was with him and the boys! I found the ARTICLE about President FORD had a "HOME"? ? there. That's when Ford's DAUGHTER made a BIG STINK about Elvis NOT being told to follow the Rules & Regulations of the Ski Resort. There is a picture of ? ? Governor WALLACE, in his wheelchair. . .meeting with Elvis in his jumpsuit and people who were with him. @@crystalhanson1483 I think you are referring to SUSAN Ford. She was very difficult and spoiled. She also was very jealous of some celebrities that came to the White House. Susan was a real foot stomper behind the White House doors from what I read. After all her nastiness she wanted to meet Elvis? Hmmm. I don't think Elvis wanted to meet Susan. Thanks for sharing this story. LoL 😂.

@@crystalhanson1483 I could be wrong but I think Elvis was getting bad publicity for a variety of things going on in his personal life back then. He supposedly walked into the White House with a list of republican names for President Nixon to read along with the "stuff" that republicans had done wrong. Tit for tat on Elvis's part. Oh my goodness! Makes ya wonder what President Nixon thought? In the end Nixon knew that Elvis was unfortunately "high" and just wanted badges. Elvis also collected badges of law enforcement and Elvis wanted to go to high schools to discuss anti drugs!! I think Elvis meant well but... I also thought it was decent of Nixon to bring Elvis into the Oval Office and give him some law enforcement "badges." President Nixon probably was thrown a bit off his schedule by the unexpected arrival of Elvis Presley! Elvis also had to check his own gun at the door before entering the White House! He supposedly offered a gun to President Nixon! Hmmm. I wonder what the president thought of that?! Elvis also asked President Nixon for some trinkets from the White House - simple things like pens for the wives and girlfriends of the Memphis Mafia members! WOW! LoL 😂. I miss Elvis ( and Nixon ). As the old saying goes, "ONLY IN AMERICA"!!😮
