That's so awesome that you got to stay in the exact room Elvis stayed in . I tell ya Spa Guy, as much content as you put out about Elvis and if there was anyone that deserved to spend the night at Graceland it would be you . Thank you so much for sharing this because I know that I won't ever get to go see this in person . Love this...!!!

I watched this a couple of times. I love the way the owners incorporated the old with the new. Judging by the way some of the other rooms were remodeled, it appears to me that they spent extra time keeping E's room as original as possible. The framed paintings look the same to me as well. As you pointed out, Billy, Elvis stayed there only a couple of months after his mother passed away - so there's no doubt that that room vibrated with a lot of grieving.

I may be a little late to the party, but I showed your series to my friend Johnny Lang who served with Elvis in Germany. It literally brought him to tears after watching the videos. Johnny said that he and Elvis, with Lamar and Red, had water pistol fights on the stairway of the hotel. He visited Elvis every weekend at his house, where he met Rex and Elizabeth, and Priscilla. Can't thank you enough Billie for bringing joy to Johnny, who will be 86 on December 7th.

Thanks for the great video! Tightening up and stepping back in time, retracing the footsteps of Elvis. Something came to mind watching this, my mother's twin sister and her husband were stationed in Germany the same time Elvis was. I can remember when they returned home, my aunt said they stayed at the same hotel as Elvis and their room was just across or down the hall from his but same floor. She said she met Elvis and some of his guys including Vernon. My aunt and uncle said they left the hotel because of all the noise they were making and the crowds of people that were hanging around there. I remember my aunt saying she got to tell Elvis that she and my mother shared the same birthday as him.

From someone that has researched every aspect of Elvis's life since the early 70's I must say and I have said before sir "Your work compares to none when it comes to Elvis, you are in a league of your own". I have met and spoke at length with several of Elvis's inner circle thru the years but your work is what I look forward to. Your research is amazing to say the least. Keep on keeping on my friend! Always looking forward to your next.

Man I remember living in Hesh's oldendorf Germany it is overwhelming to see you doing this yes we could not have claws it's for you or text for it so they we could not have closets for you are taxed for them we lived in an old-school that house that didn't have much heat Lord I hated it but it was a learning experience my daddy and I used to go junking as he would call it well we came home with grandfather clocks rugs all kinds of goodies that the Germans had to let go after each year so they did not have to be taxed on all of it this is back in the 80s amazing in the bathroom that is actually a heater and heat up the water for you to use as well what I am seeing now because it is still looks the same God bless your travel sir thank you for sharing I remember this so well God bless

I heard in the states and I was told in Bad Nauhiem that one of the main things that Elvis thought or possibly worried about while there, was WILL they forget me while I am here in Germany . Even though the Col. had merchandise to release to ensure that didnt happen, it STILL must have played heavey on his mind, dont you think? I have to wonder ,late at night when all was quiet, how Elvis MUST have sat out there at night and pondered his future. Just gives me chills looking at that at night time. Thank you for showing me things that I never knew , even during my own 3 years of living in that town. :) < PS: I dont know if you made it over to Ray Barracks or not, but I have a Google Image I made that shows where my & Elvis barracks and battalion areas were located. The white box 2 story barracks on the south side of Ray Barracks was 1/32 Armor area. :)

You pointed out the high ceiling in the room. I think the reason for high ceilings in old hotels like this is because in the days before AC, having a high ceiling was one way that the room could be made cooler (if only slightly) as heat rises.

Ive read some articles online that say much of the furnishings in Elvis' room are original. In one article I read the hotel owner says even the toilet seat is original
@SpaGuy6 жыл бұрын
Tom, Based on the old photos the furnishings are not original but some of it could be.. The bed and dresser and end tables are definitely different though the two pictures on the wall behind the bed do look the same so they could be.. They did say that the toilet was imported by Elvis and installed but that could be a myth like some many of these stories are.. Thanks, Spa Guy

You are doing a great job with these videos. You may be the first Elvis Video Archaeologist and are showing us first hand views of places we may never get to go and, more importantly, capturing those places in a moment of time which others will be able to use as comparisons as future Elvis Archaeologists track the changes to these places over time, just as you are doing now with pictures and documents. Two questions. Is this hotel where Vernon first met Dee? In this series, will you be showing us the place where Elvis almost died in his army jeep?

In Germany, it`s a habit to put some HARIBO Bears for guests on the pillow. Even for visitors at home. It`s not always Haribo, it can be other sweets too. But since HARIBO`s slogan is that it makes not only children happy but adults too :) it is the most appropriate label to show some love :)
