Folks always think of Elvis as the rock n roll higher pitch wailer. But he had quite the range and could sing beautifully in that sweet baritone voice of his. What a voice.
@pilartena46482 жыл бұрын
Elvis podia cantar de tot, i tot ho feia bé, qualsevol cançó interpretada per ell agafava una molt alta dimensió. Podem trobar molts ejemples. 💓🎵🎸🎤🥰Elvis per sempre

I read where he said he didn't think he could sang ballads to or songs in baritone. But, I agree with you he could pull off a range of vocals.
@clarencegordon52832 жыл бұрын
On the 68 come back special he showed his range especially on if I can believe where he did that deep growle. And, it just seemed like he always had fun singing. There will always be imataters but only one original.

Elvis's first song for RCA was Heartbreak Hotel which went to no1 in the US and no2 in the UK. I can't think of another artist that's had a no1 song about someone who committed suicide which went to no1 -it was based on a true story where a man committed suicide when he broke up with his GF and jumped out of a hotel window.He left a note which read "I walk a lonely street."

I seem to have read these sentiments a long, long, time ago in various pioneer rock biographies. Some scribes include Little Richard's dalliance with the Lord, and Chuck Berry being in jail for transporting a minor over State boundaries as ushering in the demise of RnRs first wave of pioneers. Whilst the army knocked the stuffing out of Elvis, I'm unsure if Buddy's music at the time of his death would be cited as Rock n Roll. Syrupy strings and schmaltzy ballads of It doesn't Matter Anymore show a maturity to his songwriting prowess, but 'music for stealing hubcaps', as one author described Rave On, it was not. Both Buddy and Eddie were veering toward producing others, with Eddie longing to get back to session work. We can only speculate. Regardless; taken too soon.... Hail Hail Rock n Rolll! Johans

@danc36933 жыл бұрын
@@ekunsa Frankly, the comparison is silly, IMO. Elvis was never offered (except for maybe A Star Is Born) the sort of serious roles that Brando was offered precisely because he was an entertainer who, as you said, could sing and dance. Elvis had light weight acting roles that utilized those talents. Brando had serious roles from the get go and heavyweights in Hollywood thought he stepped up to the plate in most of his roles. I am not especially a fan of Brando but I am a big fan of Elvis; however, I would not seriously compare the two as actors because Elvis was a superstar musically and many considered Brando one of the great film actors. Very different categories.

I believe this is one of Elvis Presley best movies. I believe these are the kind of movies he wanted to do. But Parker held him back from chasing his dream of becoming a serious actor. I believe this discouraged Elvis alot a so he decided to star touring. Elvis Presley was a very lonely different isolated human who long for unconditional Love ato be appreciated more I believe. But Parker only wanted to make money off Elvis Presley he didn't care about the poor man's health or his own personal life. Elvis Presley I believe was forced to live a life of being on the road around his body guards.

@robertzastrow46483 жыл бұрын
Sandra Miller Agree with what you said about Elvis. . . to a point. Agree that Parker mainly saw Elvis as a moneymaker, mostly to himself. Elvis should have had a Manager who constantly challenged him. Elvis was offered parts in better films, but because Parker wanted too much money and also top star billing for Elvis, the parts went to other people. Elvis also (mistakenly) surrounded himself with "Yes People" (mostly relatives and "friends") who were financially dependent on him, making themselves hesitant to criticize or stand up to him. Both his parents, especially his Dad, were much more financially dependent on their son, then Elvis was on them. When he was, I think they did a poor job of providing financial security. Vernon was shiftless his whole life, not being able to keep a job for too long. They lived mostly in low income subsidized housing. Elvis was the one to provide them with decent housing. To this day, there are a number of Elvis cousins (the Smiths) who are still living off Elvis.
@dougdickason3 жыл бұрын
@@robertzastrow4648 you make a lot of points, most I agree with, but as far as the Smiths, I have mixed feelings about. As far as Billy and Jo, I don't believe they are living off of Elvis and never really did. Billy was more like a brother or son to Elvis and actually made the move from Tupelo to Memphis in the same car when they were still kids. Billy was maybe the closest person there ever was to Elvis, besides his mother. Billy and Jo's sons have gone into business with a couple of business men, one of whom is a known KZbinr, and they have opened an Elvis museum in Memphis. One of the big exhibits is the ambulance that carried Elvis from Graceland to his final stay at the hospital when they tried to do what they could to save him. I don't like them promoting this piece, the ambulance, and think it's a low blow to Elvis, and not that historic in my view, or does it tell much of Elvis' story. So, I don't like that the Smith sons aren't more loyal and sensitive about that, but maybe I'm out of line.
