The initial part of Elvis lying down is really Austin singing, the part of the Comeback Special is already Elvis's voice, but it's so well done that we can see Austin making an effort as if he were singing and not as if he was just opening his mouth with a Playback.

Austin actually sung all songs during the shooting . His voice was later mixed with Elvis’ voice (Elvis being dominant voice in the mix) and later used in the movie. Austin is not lip syncing when they shot this, he’s actually singing

To be honest I had no plans to watch this movie either. But now after my third viewing, I am so happy that a new generation will get to discover this immense once in a lifetime talent. This movie reminded me of why I fell in love with Elvis and his music all those years ago. It made me sad and mad. You get to see the way he was seen as nothing more than a golden goose and not a human being. He just wanted to be loved and make music that was important to him. Imagine if he'd been encouraged to do that and not just do fluff. There will never be another like him. Austin did a remarkable job.

Everything in this performance has a purpose. The song itself was written by Earl Brown, inspired by Dr. Martin Luther King’s speech I Have a Dream. The song was written with Elvis in mind & it’s a tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Mr. Brown was aware of Elvis’s love for Dr. King. He also knew that Elvis was devastated by the news of Dr. King’s assassination. Just 9 miles away from Graceland (Elvis’s home). The white suit was also worn to accompany the song’s dream for better days. At the time, the conflict in Vietnam was heart wrenching. In remembrance, of the lives lost during the Vietnam war.
