I was 21 then and so excited to be at both concerts, back to back. I entered the Aud in Buffalo as soon as the doors opened. With my binoculars I walked to the seats behind the stage and was able to see on the musicians' stands the list of the songs that would be performed. As I was driving to and from Buffalo, a local radio station was getting everyone pumped for this marvellous occasion. Now 41 years later I can readily put my mind back and experience those amazing feelings.

I was attending Law School in London, ON Canada...managed to get tickets for this show and the one the next night at the Olympia in Detroit...saw Elvis live 2 nights in a row...unforgettable!!! This was the same tour that formed the basis of the documentary film, ELVIS ON TOUR....fabulous memories. By the way, I was even able to attend class on the morning of April 6, before we took off for Detroit. Both cities were about 2.5 hours drive from the university.

This was not filmed by Bob Abel. The karate sequence from the end of Suspicious Minds that you see on This is Elvis was filmed by Bob Abel. This is amateur 8mm footage

I was there. Friends brothers friend Owned Salzberg Ticket Agency in Toronto.I'll have to double check the spelling of the name. They had to convince me to go/ basically drag me...lol Turned out to be a great concert. I was glad I went. I was more rock then rock a billy gospel but Elvis was great. 4 busses from Toronto then onto Buffalo. We all had a blast. I was on the organizers bus. Anyone else get there that way? Still have the program and ticket stubs. Thee people selking the programs were skimming people of the program price . A few bucks higher. Then they announced the program price to the audience saying don't pay more. He kept getting a scarf and wrapping them around his neck and then tossing them to the audience. I wasn't scraming but it was fun.

Educational use? Too bad the camera couldn't be supported better or use a monopod. The results would not have been as shaky. The focus and audio could have been better if more care ad been taken. But thanks for posting. Always great to see Elvis ad Buffalo together! Doesn't matter how long ago it was shot.

This is fan-shot super8 footage, not Bob Abel's videotape. It's been circulating on VHS since at least the early 80's.

I don't mind the poor video quality, but i wish the audio was better, it would've been great to have a soundboard for this concert, anyway thx for posting it.

At the ending of suspicious minds, the karate scene can be seen in the movie Elvis On Tour. Sooooo... they filmed the whole show indeed. ;) Always ELV1S...

Wow, that Suspicious Minds needs to be released if Elvis' image as King is to be maintained.

Elvis was still working some current stuff by other artists into his act at this point. A few years later, it was all oldies and his own stuff. He wasn't quite a nostalgia act yet at this point.

Spesso Elvis durante i suoi concerti dovette pregare i fans urlanti di tacere senza riuscirci ; neanche lui stesso riusciva a sentire la sua voce.

There was no "small" video tape machine in 1972.. who ever posted that should have checked out plausibility. Plus this has streaks and white spots.. FILM 8 mm or Super 8... video machines were reel to reel and huge, not yet available for home use.. tv stations and production companies had them....
@cortezibanez38906 жыл бұрын
Joseph Pastor , in hindsight we now know producer Abel did film the show using a b/w videocam. So no wonder people are confused over the three different ways this show was filmed

and 8mm was silent. The audience recording has been overdubbed to this 8mm I would think.
