I had an opportunity to talk to the Stamps and the Imperials Quartet back in 2008. They told me Elvis loved the Gospel segments of his concerts the best. He sang "Peace in The Valley" on Ed Sullivan with the Jordanaires in 1957 at the height of his rock and roll fame and RCA released an Extended Play 45rpm that same year. It should come as no surprise that Elvis 3 Grammy Awards all were for his gospel recordings.

Elvis Presley changed and talks about his past, but he has his fans in his mind....As you listen to Pastor Bob Joyce (Elvis) in this video when you go to 10:15 he hints about his life before! Interesting isn't it? Here are the words that he says (go to 10:15 in the video): "There is something about this man, that is so appealing to me. That I am not going to concern ... I'm not going to concern myself with what I was and what I had before. Because Jesus makes a difference in my life. There is something about Jesus that causes me not to even be so concerned about my life that I had before. Or my problems or whatever it is that I had in life. Suddenly things have changed, my mind has changed, my affections, my ah ... interests has changed. I'm not interested in how many fish I can catch today. I'm interested to see what Jesus is going to do next. Can you imagine walking with Jesus everywhere you went. Listen what I am telling you this morning is reality." Ok.. so here is the deal.. I know how hard it is to believe that Elvis is still alive. But to be alive and to be a preacher too. Now that is going to far right? Well NO. Not if you remember how much he loved God and how he was raised. Pastor Bob is preaching because he was raised to love Jesus. Elvis and Bob have that in common. Here is the real issue that people have. To believe that Elvis is still alive means that you have to WAKE UP to the real reality of things. Not everything you see or hear is true. Most people are happy just living in a dream world of false reality. Waking up when you are enjoying your sleep is not fun. Just try and wake someone up sometime when they are really tired and sleeping well.. You may get a black eye. So it's ok. No hard feelings here. You can believe what ever you want. I chose to wake up and live in a different reality. One where Elvis never died because he wanted to actually live. Elvis had no life. He was a prisoner in his own home. He couldn't even go to the store without being mobbed. People tried to tear his cloths off his body. He was never able to be himself, he had to always be Elvis. Well he put Elvis to rest in 1977. He died so that he could live. Now after all this time, he wants the world to know that He didn't do this only for personal reasons. He did it because he had no other alternative. You see Jesus said.. "If you loose your life for my sake you shall find it." Elvis needed to get away from Elvis and become a regular man so he could concentrate on Jesus and heal. Elvis was under a tremendous amount of pressure. People idolized him as if he were a god. But there is only ONE GOD! Elvis is not him. God is God and man is man. We can not keep on idolizing men and women. We need to only idolize God. If there is anything in this world that Elvis would love to do, that would be to come back to the public eye as himself and re start his music, preach the gospel and just be BOB. Can we get a big Amen for Bob? Let me tell you something.. I sure wouldn't mind giving this wonderful man my blessing.. He sure does deserve it. After all he still is the greatest singer in history. The "King Of Rock n Roll" .. But in reality he is just a regular man like you and me that loves God and Music. Give him a chance folks. He has a message that will knock your socks off and potentially save this stinking world.

For those wondering what exactly Presley brought to the production, besides his voice, it was that he wasn’t overwhelmed by the sets, the extras, the lights. He integrates when he needs to, and takes the lead in every sequence. This gospel sequence may be his most sincere section. Sure, he could rock like crazy, croon a tender pop song, even do juke joint level blues. But when he brought his gospel voice, that’s the purest Elvis. Somewhere Up Above and Saved are powerhouse takes. It’s him at a peak, which is better than just about anyone else.

I like how Elvis started this off with the old black gospel hymnal to show where everything stemmed from and pay tribute before he started his set. I've always liked listening to Elvis' gospel. He put a spin with uptempo and flair on some gospel standards making them his own.

I always had some negative feelings about Elvis, yesterday i saw this beautiful movie from Baz Luhrmann and my feelings about Elvis Changed soo much!!! I think he had so much respect for black culture. Its sad he was abused by this stupid manager! And yeah offcourse Elvis wasnt a saint nobody is. I have deep respect for him being a rebel and inspired people to bring black and white together!

Well it is a shame that you had native feelings about Elvis unjustified. What a waist of energy when the truth was always there for you to see for your self. It is amazing to me that people listen to gossip and run with it as fact. I have always loved Elvis through out my life I have heard the most terrible things sed about him and it always just blew my mind for example he was racist he had sex with his mother he stole his music from black people he was a womanizer and so on. It is a shame that it took a movie 46 years later to show some that he was a wonderful man deserving of respect and love and by far not a joke as a lot of people have made him out to be Elvis Aaron Presley was not A King but a man that our King sent to us as a gift

Must have been the most handsome man in the sixties.First time I see this video. Been a fan since I was ten years old,and still am at 68.Will always be.Thank God he prophesied in the sixties that he's saved.Maybe in his last hour he called upon the name of the Lord, and God never goes back on His promises. Those who call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved..Bless you all.

That brick red outfit with the white collar and bolo scarf, WoW!!! And I thought the black leather outfit was avant garde when I saw it in a rerun. Elvis also was a sharp, snappy dresser! What didn’t he do off the charts? And his Gospel singing Also was innovative and ahead of the times. Elvis Presley, genuinely UNIQUE!!!

His Legacy must be preserved and protected at any cost, this man is too important for the history of music Because there,s nowbody like him enymore, and there never ever wil be.now 45 years after his passing there,s still no competition The man was miles away ahead of his time. 👌👍👍

I think Prescilla is doing her utmost to keep his memory preserved. I don't suppose its all selfless on her part, after all, Elvis's memory is her income - but she and her team put a lot of effort in to keep the fans happy. In an ideal world, she would've just got on with her life many years ago. It can't be fun for her to be asked "do you still miss him?". The answer has to be "no", but for the fans' sake, she has to say yes. It keeps the romance of it all alive and she knows that. She (and her team) keeps his legacy perfectly alive.

Elvis was a unify-er, he brought people of all races together and oh how he loved and never forgot the black families he was raised with in Tupelo Mississippi. Gospel is, in my opinion, the best music ever, especially when Elvis sang it.

Elvis never gets enough credit for his love of all people. Elvis’ gospel music is so powerful...I love how Elvis was proud of Christianity in an age where the likes of John Lennon were preaching the opposite. No one has the spiritual power of Elvis Presley...
