My Dad went through Grafenwohr a year after Elvis and then served very close by on the Czech border. People were still talking about Elvis and how nice he was and surprisingly quiet. Also he bought radios for everyone when he left or something, which they really appreciated.

But something he had that no other had, was a unique and very good songvoice and above all, an unparalleled charisma! Besides that, he put his own signature on every song he sang, he did it he's way... EDIT. Yes Beatles (Lennon/McCartney) wrote their songs, but I am not a fan of Beatles. They had already split, when Lennon wrote "Imagine", the only song I like.

This movie( GI BLUES) was the very first one of Elvis' military service which was very patriotic and model for the new recruits. And in my view the lylics of this song is worth being awarded and very suitable for Elvis' showing his gifted fabulous TALENTS.

Robert Ivers ended up being a news caster in Yakima Washington. I always liked how he presented the news and didn’t know about his acting past until I moved to Los Angeles in 79’. Flipping through the tv channels one day in LA I came across an old western where he played a bad guy. I was surprised and delighted to see an old familiar face from my hometown. Elvis and I share the same birth day, January 8th. When he was 42 he passed. I happened to be half his age, 21. When I turned 42 I installed a telephone in the bathroom, just in case.. R.I.P. both the King and Bob Ivers.
