Both Elvis & Bobby are legends with each having their own musical & performance styles. Bobby had tremendous wit, dance moves, zaniness, wrote songs, played 5 instruments, sense of humor, & also had that extra burst of creativity in his performances!!!

It was tragic that Bobby Darin died so young, when after an incredibly singing career, he began to star in some quality films. Darin was a phenomenon in the sense that his singing accomplishments straddled many areas of music. He was a tremendously good nightclub performer, as he could not only song a wide range of songs, but he was a brilliant impersonator. There will never be another Bobby Darin. RIP

The wonderful Bobby Darin, who was a great singer and an accomplished actor. Darin was such a versatile star, whose singing repertoire extended across rock ‘roll’ roll, ballads and jazz. He became a great entertainer and cabaret performer. His early death was a huge loss to the musical world.
@lynnalvaro13594 жыл бұрын
Bobby Darin was really good, but he couldn’t hold a candle to Elvis. Elvis was in a class of his own. He had it all. He was at triple threat, looks, voice, and sexuality-100% more than he needed.
@geoffm99444 жыл бұрын
@@lynnalvaro1359 When comparing actors and entertainers, we enter the world of subjectivity, I respect you opinion but I would beg to differ about your analysis of these two singers and entertainers. Presley was undoubtedly a singing phenomenon because of his unique style of singing and movement on stage which combined vitality, sexuality and an ability to generate the excitement of rock ‘n’ roll. His early records at the Sun Studio with Scotty Moore and Bill Black were brilliant in my humble opinion, and when he made the switch to RCA his singing career bloomed because he produced so many wonderful, classic hits. Indeed, most, if not all of his records were chart toppers! Up and till 1962/3, he was ‘head and shoulders’ over most pop recording artists. Furthermore, his first few films in the 1950’s showed he possessed a real acting talent, but sadly his film career after 1963, began to go into reverse by being cast in so many frothy, formulaic and mediocre films which became ‘chewing gum for the eyes.’ Coupled with the tedious films of the 60’s, Elvis’s records no longer commanded the excitement which teenagers wanted. The new 60’s generation of teenagers were listening to a different style of music, epitomised by the British pop groups. Elvis was still a very accomplished singer by the late 60’s and because of his notable and distinguished singing of ballads and gospel, it showed once again he was a tremendous talented singer. Bobby Darin recorded some great hits, spanning the 50’s and 60’s. He was also wonderful on stage and his live performances showed he could combine humour with a great voice. Darin was not just ‘a run of the mill pop singer’ but someone who had a wide singing repertoire. His ability to successfully record ‘swing’ and jazz songs showed the depth of his talent. His voice impersonations and easy going style won him millions of fans. I miss the likes of Elvis and Bobby Darin. Personally, I wouldn’t compare them since it’s like comparing ‘chalk and cheese.’ Both men were immensely talented performers and their early deaths were a huge loss to the entertainment world.

@@lynnalvaro1359 I adore both Elvis and Darin and many more artists. Your comment is more than a little inappropriate though. Bobby Darin was first and foremost a live performer.... song writer, multi-instrumentalist, impersonator and actor. Elvis knew how talented Bobby was which is why he attended his concerts throughout his entire career.
@frankiesinatra1 Жыл бұрын
@@lynnalvaro1359 I understand what you're saying but the truth is we cannot compare the two. Both Darin and Elvis were such different performers and they were so great at what they did. Elvis considered Darin a true great and vice versa.

The few films he made showed that Bobby had the qualities to go on and make a very successful career in the movies. Elvis was an incredible singer but lacked the versatility of a Bobby Darin.

Why does this say ''sings three songs'' Also music is not a contest and taste is arbitrary. We did not invent music we discovered it. It is mathematical and maths has always been here. People who play music are just the messengers in fact the composers are the messengers the people who play it are just the delivery people.
