Elvis Presley - Where No One Stands Alone - 16 February 1977 - Only Time Performed Live

It is quite widely known even by those who have little interest in Elvis Presley that he had a deep love for Gospel music, and that it stems from his youth and is one of his biggest musical influences.
I’ve written before on previous posts, namely the first live version of ‘How Great Thou Art’ about Elvis’ Grammy awards (or lack of) and how it is of little surprise that those he did win were of that category so need to revisit that here.
Elvis’ love for this type of music is clearly evident in this only live rendition of ‘Where No One Stands Alone’. From Elvis’ first show of his last tour in 1976, at Wichita State University, Wichita, Kansas, it became the norm for Elvis’ penultimate song during his live show to be ‘Unchained Melody’ with Elvis on piano. Whilst during his show in The Garrett Coliseum, Montgomery, Alabama was no different in regard when Elvis sat down at the piano something unique happened.
Elvis decided that he would give what would ultimately become his only live version of ‘Where No One Stands Alone’, a song originally recorded in 1966 in RCA’s Studio B ,Nashville, Tennessee and included on the Grammy award winning album ‘How Great Thou Art’.
This track was given an official release at a bonus song on the 2007 FTD release ‘Unchained Melody’ which showcased Elvis’ first of two consecutive appearances in Charlotte just four days later.

I love all of Elvis' music but his gospel is my favorite. He puts his heart and soul in his music and it makes you feel something deep down. He takes me to a different place whenever he sings. One of a kind with this God given talent.

Greetings from California. My husband went to Germany before he went to Vietnam during the Vietnam war, back in the late sixties early seventies. He talked a lot about Germany and how beautiful your country is. He didn't know anything about Elvis back then but I did and when he came home I asked him about that he had no clue but I'm grateful that you guys still know Elvis. Now I'm curious, do you know anyone who collected Elvis Presley memorabilia? I've often wondered about that?

If I weren't already a Christian I'm sure Elvis would converted me. His voice will NEVER be matched! I really do LOVE that part about him! He truly was a gift from God, and I'm very glad that he was here during my lifetime.
