Elvis did gospel albums and he grew up on gospel music. After many of his concerts in Vegas, some of the background singers would go up to his suite and they’d sing with him for hrs. He also sang gospel and played the piano at his Graceland home to unwind and relax. He was very spiritual and read the Bible regularly.

The bass singer is JD Sumner. He was in the Guinness Book of Records as having the lowest human voice. I was at an Elvis tribute show where JD Sumner performed. As soon as he started singer I felt this incredible pressure in my chest. That pressure, caused by JD’s deep voice, was on my chest throughout his 20 minute performance. It was an amazing sensation for sure. Elvis’ passion for gospel music, and the power of the lyrics, is almost enough to convert me away from my agnostic beliefs!

Yes gospel was Elvis's favorite music to listen to and sing! He won 3 Grammys for his gospel recordings. He would often stop his shows and do some Gospel. Elvis was born in 1935 and as a youngster grew up in extreme poverty during the great depression. He was raised in the church in the deep south (Mississippi than Memphis) He carried his faith throughout his life. He would sing Gospel to calm his nerves before shows than after the shows his backup singers would go to his suite or home with him and sing Gospel to unwind till the sun came up. That was JD Sumner and The Stamps( his backup singers as well as the Sweet Inspirations the female singers)singing bass he was very close to Elvis throughout his career untill Elvis's death in 1977. Elvis loved him dearly. Here's some of his other Gospel to check out. How Great Thou Art live in 72 Take My Hand Precious Lord Bridge Over Troubled Water live in Vegas Peace In The Valley Lead Me Guide Me This is just a few of them, there are many. He recorded several gospel albums. Edit: just wanted to add Elvis sang everything not just rock. He's in the rock and roll hall of fame He's in the blues hall of fame He's in the country hall of fame He's in the gospel hall of fame.

I subscribed because you played Elvis yes please keep his songs coming anything from 56 to 77 you can’t go wrong a fantastic one is Suspicious Minds 1970 Live Las Vegas, also same concert Polk Salad Annie. Aloha Hawaii 1973 You Gave Me A Mountain, Fever, Steam Roller Blues, American trilogy & My way are a few. Younger Elvis 56 Jail House Rock from his movie Jail House Rock & Hound Dog from the Milton Berle Show with dialogue shows his hip & gyrations movements that got him in trouble & the adults at that time thought it was vulgar & only filmed him from the waist up until the young girls complained & forced them to film all of Elvis! He is the GOAT! ❤️

Yes elvis sings alot of gospel. Could u react to Elvis the king of kindness please.
@belinda35_772 жыл бұрын
I think Elvis a Generous Heart is a slightly better watch (the condensed version for reactions). The full version is definitely a better watch. King of Kindness is a little too condensed for me. They are both worthy watches though :)

It looks like others have already answered the questions, but I just wanted to say that for some reason I have never seen that particular clip before and I freaking got goosebumps in the middle of it. Although that happens to me a lot with Elvis, laugh.

This was written by Kris Kristofferson after being convicted at a church service. I could say more, but I don't want to make this a long post. I met J.D. Sumner twice. Once when Elvis was alive and once after Elvis passed away.

You ought to listen to "How Great Thou Art" live in 1972 or 73. Yes he went to Black Churches and sang in the choir . And JD, I can't think of his last name. It starts with an S His voice is really that low ! Then play some of his 1968 live comeback songs !
