... Which singer has as much charisma as Elvis? So much humor? That sexy? Then an absolute world-class voice? ... To this day I don't know anyone better than Elvis!! ...His performance in Hawaii in 1973 via satellite was the greatest event in music history of the last century! ✨💎✨🕺🏻🕯 Thank you

My father didn't like Elvis too much, but when I played him this video many years ago, he said that he wanted this song to be played at his funeral when he passed. Now THAT is power to move people like that. Not just fans. But random PEOPLE.

I been a fan since the early 60s. I watch and listen to the king everyday. I bought a plot about 17 years ago but I'm thinking about cremation and have someone throw my ashes over the walls of Graceland. I been growing my sideburns for 2 years getting ready for the new Elvis movie. It starts tomorrow 24th. Sorry for your loss. Long live the king of rock n roll and everything else thing else. TX good night Graceland

One of many things I love about Elvis's performances is the man himself, and his mum took him to several Baptist services every Sunday so it is understandable that that, is where he took you! But his voice could always be heard over his accompanying singers, who of their own performances, were always magnificent! And his words are understood!

Song was about end of slavery in U.S. It was 1st concert broadcast around world by satellite. Reports estimated concert was seen by 1.5 billion people in 36 countries. Trilogy combines 3 songs together-“Dixie” (anthem of Confederate South during Civil War), "Battle Hymn Of The Republic" (anthem of Union North during Civil War to end slavery), & “All My Trials, Lord” (spiritual shows no matter how bleak situation seems, struggle will soon be over). All 3 songs have a lot of verses. “Battle Hymn Of The Republic” is American patriotic song written by abolitionist Julia Ward Howe in 1861 during Civil War. After she heard Union troops singing “John Brown's Body,” she was encouraged to rewrite lyrics for song & use original tune. One verse of hymn says “let us live to make men free”-fight to end slavery. Howe's words angered southerners & Northern Union troops were frequently heard singing it.

Try Any Day Now, from his Elvis from Memphis album. Elvis sang ballads, big powerful anthems but he could carry a good pop song too. All with his unique and soulful voice. He could sing anything, including opera ❤

That was written and originally performed, very well by the way, by Mickey Newberry. However Elvis added his spin with the orchestra and re-arranged this song as he so often did, taking a little known song and making it world famous.

Thank you for your reaction. Info on this song is that it is a medley of three uniquely American pieces: “Dixie,” (dixie means the states down south in the U.S.); “Battle Hymn of the Republic,” a marching hymn of the Union Army during the American Civil War; and “All My Trials,” a Bahamian lullaby related to African American spirituals sung by protesting folksingers of the 1950s.

There is a Pastor in my home state, not far from me in Benton, Arkansas, who many Elvis fans think is him, as crazy as it sounds. His name is Bob Joyce and he openly tells everyone he IS NOT Elvis. He has a church in Benton. Some have suggested that it could be the unknown son of Elvis. There's many videos of him on KZbin and one in particular i'd love to see you react to on YT. The video i'm speaking of is titled 'Bob And Matt Joyce Live 2011 Dentons Benton Arkansas'. Matt is Bob's son, who is dressed as an Elvis imperonator, and he is telling his dad the words as the song goes along. Listen to him sing karaoke as Elvis, singing "American Trilogy."You WILL be amazed at how much he sounds like Elvis. Better than any impersonator i've ever heard. He could be wealthy cutting records if he wanted. There is a video of a professional voice analyst of YT using an instrument to compare Elvis and Bob's voice and he proves it's not the same voice, but he says it's a close to a match as you can possibly get, without being a perfect match to Elvis himself. Check out Pastor Bob.

It was wonderful to observe Elvis “taking you to church” … for real. Elvis was not perfect but he longed to recapture the spirituality he experienced as a poor boy singing with the blacks in their churches. Fame, women + fortune cd not fill that void. It is said his Bible was well-read. Elvis always said “Jesus is the king. I’m just a singer.” He was unhealthy + tired + he longed to go home to be with his King … his Lord + Saviour Jesus Christ. God saw his heart + heard his prayers … for real 🙏💕.

Thtic, but its just that good to me.e place in the song where the flute is finishing up, and the drum kicks in and gets louder and louder and then the horns hit..... gives me chills while those horns are going. Elvis face and him talking to the band tells the story. Its like he knew this was absolutely incredible and he was totally in that moment. I am a total hair metal guy, Motley Crue, Metallica, Bon JOvi, Def Leppard, but I think this just my be the best performance in any song in the history of the world. I know that sounds a little drama
