There were so many movie songs Elvis could have nailed live. Young and Beautiful is another missed opportunity- he also teased audiences with snippets of Loving You. Imagine Elvis "unplugged" 👍 Speaking of "unplugged" the FTD's of "Our Memories of Elvis" are worth a listen!

As you know, Love Me Tender, Jailhouse Rock, Teddy Bear, Can't Help Falling in Love, Trouble are all movie songs that he did on a regular basis in the 70's. He should've done more. His movie career was loaded with great tunes - Bossa Nova Baby, Return to Sender, Hard Headed Woman, Follow That Dream, King Creole just to name a few.

I recall Joyce Bova saying in her book that during one of the concerts that he brought her to that he threw out teddy bears to her and the audience. So, 1970 sounds about right. I never saw the black onesie with the silver belt and white collar that EP was wearing in your vid. He was gorgeous! I had to hit the pause button and stare at him a while. All the best David!

Bob Dylan recently wrote a book about songwriting, and he used Viva Las Vegas as an example of one of the greatest. Just an FYI. Bob wrote a song called Went to see the Gypsy about Elvis in the early’70’s

He would joke but I think it was a source of great pain for him that he was not taken seriously in Hollywood and that he would never be. Those 60s movies were part of that realisation so they're a more painful reminder than the 50s movies which were better and pretty different all round.

I think the reason he did it also not just for the fans but it was a Million seller and plus it was a U.S. No. 1 hit during the summer of 1957, staying at No. 1 for seven weeks, it would also hit No. 1 on the R&B Best Sellers List.The song also reached No. 1 on the country charts for one week. Plus in Canada it was also No. 1 for 7 weeks. Happy 4th🎉

Elvis should have done many more songs live and unplugged instead of always do his 50s hits.he actually did both rubbernecking and memories live in 69 just after the 68 comeback special and does songs sounded great.to bad he never did them again after that.

Hilarious: People showing concern for your hair style. Well handled! It was a pity Elvis choose to essentially speak the words of Teddy Bear, rather than sing the song. But, if you were the person that made the request and he obliged; that would be special.

I remember you posted a video where Elvis was in Chicago....I think in 1976....where he included 'Teddy Bear' in a montage with 'Don't Be Cruel' and another one of HIS classics i can't think of right now. It's one of my favorite Elvis concert videos.

Actually i went back and see it was posted by another, 'far lesser' channel (THIS is the PREMIER Elvis channel on KZbin, imho), on KZbin that covers Elvis content. The other song was 'All Shook Up' and it WAS in Chicago 1976. i can post the link if you like, EITM.

Great song. One of his most popular songs. #1 in 1957. He completely started in the wrong key in that 1971 concert. It sounds horrible. Of course he combined it with a medley with Don't Be Cruel from 1972-77 and by itself in 1970 as you mentioned.
@dm101074 ай бұрын
That’s a funny story. I will say though that I prefer the original recordings of Elvis’s movie songs rather than when he performed it in the 70’s.

If we’re being honest, he never did any of those old classics any justice during the 70s performances. He hopped the tempo way too much and just sailed through them to be done with them.

I totally understand. A lot of times he did not do them justice, but sometimes I like how he changed it up.
