Elvis had so much talent! Unfortunately some of the movies didn't allow for Elvis to be Elvis! But that was the only way to see this Gorgeous. Handsome and very talented man!! I have and always will be an Elvis fan, no matter what!! ❤❤❤❤❤

Most of Elvis's films from the 60s had these "production" numbers in - I love this film as it was fun had lots of songs and Elvis looked gorgeous plus Shelley Fabares was one of his co-stars (she did 3 films with him) and she is my favourite female co-star. For your information - the two guys throwing the cocktail shakers near the beginning in red were Joe Esposito and Richard Davis - two of Elvis's Memphis Mafia/friends.

Yes you pronounced it correctly. I believe Bill Bixby was in a couple of Elvis movies like the one Elvis played a race car driver with Nancy Sinatra. Nenette fabra also was it a couple I believe Will Hutchens played in tv tv western series Sugarfoot. The guy that plays Elvis's father Mr.Gregory played in lots of tv westerns from the 1960s/70s also in the police sitcom Barney miller✌️❤️🇺🇲

Good morning Nick! I would first like to say that you are rockin the TCB cap! Wearing it for this clip, is more appropriate than you might realize for that is exactly what Elvis is doing. I have said before that his time, spent, after the army satisfying movie contracts, was more like the army than the army. With Colonel Parker pulling all the strings, Elvis was left only to comply. Many complain, criticize and reject Elvis in fluffy movies that exploited him in every way imaginable. And yet, the late great Debbie Reynolds, actress, singer, dancer and American icon said it best: “poor boy…he didn’t want to do those movies but he was forced into it. Then again, if he had not, we wouldn’t have him on film.” Colonel Parker was always listed in Presley films as “Technical Advisor”. I read somewhere that someone had asked just what that position entailed aside from a sizable salary that brought Parker’s film earnings over that of Elvis’. The explanation was provided…”It meant that Parker was paid to keep Elvis from being Elvis.” Regardless, I love his movies, all of them for his beauty, his voice, his charm and most of all, for his integrity while many of those around him showed none. Once again Nick, thank you for showing the respect that he deserves.❤️

I'm sure by this time Elvis was getting really fed up with these cheesy movies but it was the only way fans could see him for most of the 60s. He carries on like a pro though.

Love your beanie. TCB forever! If you are going to go back to movies for a bit, Charro! He only sings the intro song to the movie, but it shows his adaptability of his voice. Well done Nick, thanks for this fun one. His movies were so corny, but still a bit of mindless fun.

A good reaction to Elvis being professional and doing his best with very thin material which he knew was just fluff and basically produced by the studios to make themselves money off of his name. He wanted to act serious roles. His last film, Change of Habit did give him the chance and he played the jaded, hard working Dr really well so do look at it. Unfortunately his more serious films weren’t appreciated by his fans , who really only wanted to see him singing. The 1968 Comeback Special was his rebirth into doing what he loved, entertaining live audiences. 👌💕🕺

I agree. It doesn't showcase Elvis's voice and talent and the music was overpowering. By 1967, he was so fed up with those movies and just wanted the movie contract over. He'll always be the greatest entertainer the world has known regardless of Parker.

Not much to say except I did see his films in the theater but even then, wasn't excited or impressed w-these types of films, just liked looking at him. On the more serious side of the films he made, that was what he was hoping to attain, not continue to do this type of "silliness." Thanks & have a good week.

I have seen most of this movie more than once, but I don't remember this scene that much. I know most of his movies weren't the standard he wanted. Just quickly made with pretty girls. The movie plots weren't always that great, but his singing was . Elvis's favorite for the acting role was "King Creole". I also think his last movie, "Change Of Habit ", from 1969, was one of his better movies.

It is wild crazy the silliness of it all. But its become a kind of cult favorite with some younger serious nerdy elvis fans. They do hour long deep dives on it and rabbit hole into the movie, the making of it and how it came into being . Check out TCB cast channel do whole series on clambake. I appreciated the movie more after listening to their podcast .

You did well to find something to say about this scene 🫣. By this stage (and before) Elvis hated the films and the majority of songs were mediocre. There were some gems but, in my opinion, this is not one of them. Think Elvis deserved a medal just to make it look like he was having fun when he must have been in turmoil.

By this point the studios thought the fans would watch anything with Elvis in it,so spent less and shot them quicker.the money they made they used to make bigger and better films.poor Elvis couldn't wait to get out of the contracts.Such a waste of his talent,I love Elvis but some of the later films are just rubbish and I only watch cos it's him.

Hi Nick it’s Gregory again yes yes you described it properly I don’t I don’t know how I can describe what I’ve just seen it’s a product of its time just a little note of trivia one of the theme one of the blondes dancing on the roof in the background is Ronald Reagan’s daughter Maureen I don’t know which one but one of them is what is that a riot another song that is in this movie that’s really good is do the clam tremendous dancers tremendous and also a song Mickey Gilley sang called you don’t know me what is it for Mickey Gilley but it also was the song an Elvis soundtrack on this particular film course Mickey Gilley did what he did it was a big hit and 70s for him but in the 60s it was just a one of the mini on a background track on one of Elvis‘s film soundtracks anyway as a as always bless your heart

Some of the songs in his movies were mediocre. That’s why Elvis was tired of making that kind of movies. He wanted to get better roles. My favorite Elvis movie was Kin Creole. It has three good songs you will like. 1st Crawfish-this is a duet with Kitty White. Make sure you get the whole clip from the beginning of the movie. 2nd- If you looking for trouble. 3rd-King Creole and look at the whole movie. It was Elvis 4th movie. He was given an extension to complete it by the US military before reporting for active duty.

It is absolutely OK to say negative things. You were obviously struggling to come up with something positive to say I think? ( Apologies if my impression is wrong). Elvis did go through some terrible, terrible lows in his career. Criticizing those lows is part and parcel of our healthy response/ reception. Sometimes we can be protective about those we admire and Elvis especially has been historically mocked so much, many fans have the tendency to shut out negative. But bad films and yes, bad performances happened. We admire the greatness, we can critique the mediocre/ bad.

Nick is I’m listening to you describe the clambake review I can only say this song is pretty typical of the songs from blue Hawaii 08 till the end of the decade he did do one last film with Mary Tyler Moore which I’m sure you know who she is and there’s a song called rubbernecking which if you look it up you’ll see it actually became a retro hit in the UK when some fellow from the Netherlands read remastered it really redid it with this and that and then it became a huge hit in the UK I mean huge and that was yeah and that was it was called a little less conversation yeah so one I’m sure you can look that one up anyway I hope the things I’ve said if the enlightened you a little bit to some of the things of Elvis‘s career and you’re absolutely right to 68 special if if you can look upon a news conference Elvis dead 1972 before he did the New York City show as I get to the fastest sell out at that to that time he said they asked him why are you returning to two live music and he said well I had to get out of the movie contracts so you know Elvis you know it is said he he he really did not like these this type of thing you know some some of these movies he sang to children children animals you know he did not like us and I don’t blame him but they had to have 12 or 13 songs of film and that was what they guaranteed to RCA so that was that he was committed and I’m sure he did his best to pick the best he actually did a song you could probably look at school or McDonald’s or McDonald’s yeah yeah yeah oh McDonald’s had a farm EI yeah yo he actually did that new movie called the what what was the movie called I can’t even recall name of the film it’s not I don’t think it’s called the trouble of with girls but if you look up Elvis old MacDonald you’ll find it but that was about the lowest Elvis did with the nonsense songs but no he was trapped he was trapped till the movie contracts were done and then he could start returning to the live performances again which he spoke about in the press conference in New York City one thing I was particularly impressed about was she at one of the depressed ask him about what he thought of war protesters and he said I’d rather not get into that I’m just an entertainer I don’t have anything to say about that I really respect and that is Elvis of course but we know private leaves quite conservative a Reagan Thatcher Conservative

Elvis was so sick of these kind of movies, that's why he quit acting. He wanted to make quality movies like King Creole not this silly fluff. Love Your Honesty, it's very hard to find anything good to say about this. Sorry to those who love this movie, not my cup of tea. Elvis said these movies actually made him physically ill, he felt like he was becomming a laughing stock. The sad thing is He really was a good Actor but his Manager was in it only for the money and could have cared less about Elvis's dreams or his need to be respected as an Actor.

I LOVE ELVIS, but I don t like HIM in this movie at all... HE was already 32 y.o., in this film.,.I, personally.think, that HE didn t fit in the decor, and was to old to portrayed an overdressed beach bum .. ,The sad part in all that, is whatever He liked those movies or not,( most of the time NOT) HE had to do it,since HE was under a 10 years contract, thanks to Parker.. However HE looked fantastic and HIS voice is the most beautiful voice in the world....Thanks Nick for your** ELVIS SUNDAY***, I always enjoyed it...***LONG LIVE THE KING****.

Forgettable song from a forgettable movie. It did have an excellent ballad, "You don't know me" which is worth reviewing. This was a waste of Elvis' talents. PS: after reading the comments here, i never remember reading so much negativity. Guess we hated the song as much as The King, LOL.

Let`s be honest. It would be ok on the level of high school pupils. But watching an A-rank star like Elvis in these kinds of cheap amateur productions is just point-blank silly and disgraceful. Not even Elvis could make a B-rank song out of trash. America is a big country with millions of talented people, but the Colonel wasn`t prepared to pay good money for good people. Elvis was stuck in D-rank movies and had to sing D-rank songs. Of course, you didn`t know what to say... Thank you, Nick!
