Hatta ilkokuldayken eş anlamlı sözcükler konusunu işlerdik. Arapça ve Türkçe kökenli sözcükler eş anlamlı olurdu. Örneğin: kitap=betik, isim=ad, tarih=geçmiş.

Turkish and Arabic are two different languages. Because of the history a couple of words are the same but in generell it’s not similar language, the language structure is more simular to Korean, Japan etc. same couple of words is normal in every language. Example, the words Yoğurt (Yogurt), Kahve (coffee) etc. is used by the world, but the words are from Turkiye. Turks are not arabs. Many try to equate the two Ethnics, but they have no ethnic connection with each other. The Turks have connection with arabs because of the Ottoman Empire, they were the leader of the arabic Region and East Europe region (Balkans). Before the Ottoman Empire, the Turks have a lot of big Empires. Hungary are ethnical Turks too in East Europe, the Turks have big influence to Balkans. Huns (Empire).

@@Gigusx in reality its probably closer to 15%, the people who come up with 6-7% really want there to be less foreign words in Turkish so they manipulate the lists they use (The same people who made a language reform to remove Arabic vocabulary in the 1930s) But yeah it is not like the difference between Romance languages at all, its maybe more similar to the relationship of English and Latin (except English also has French loanwords which complicates things)
