I loved when Jim accused Jade of only doing all of the theorizing/figuring things out in order to "prove that he's the smartest person in town" And Jade hit him with the "so what? if it gets us home, then so what?" - it proves that Jade actually is way smarter. His only focus is getting everyone the hell out of this place. He doesn't care how or by what means, or who likes/dislikes him, or thinks he's arrogant etc - he'll do whatever he has to do, and he knows nothing else matters

Julie's scene gave us SO MANY ANSWERS! Now we know every time someone has had a seizure, they were also simultaneously interacting with a moment from the past/future. - Ethan had a seizure early S1, after which he says he saw a lake, pictures of his family, screaming, and a spider. - Sara also had many seizures S1 and never mentioned what happened but started to murder people because of them. - Elgin had a seizure S2 right after stepping off the bus! I have goosebumps thinking of all the possible interactions that may have happened! I love this show!!!

One thing that does puzzle me is are they in the future or what cause when Julie through that rope down she wasn't doomed to the dungeon until after Boyd came back with the worms right

@@RennaStarling maybe not. The fact she is one of the 3 tied up in the dungeon distinguishes her from the others, tough. It's as if She is simultaneously tied in the dungeon and somewhere else at the same time since it happened. Also : the dungeon is a place where the time shifting occurs : it is in ruin, Boyd lights a torch, hop, he is inside of it and it isn't destroyed and in ruins. Julie goes close to it : hop, she is inside. The time shifting seems to be related with the place, not the seizures. Plus it wasn't really seizures like the ones experienced by Ethan and Sara. They were in a crisis state with white eyes. But it's interesting tough. It could be a thing. But again. For this case, the dungeon ?! Obviously in two states, and 2 timelines at the same time. Ruins/not ruins. Julie Randall Marielle inside / comatose in their beds. Juxtaposition of two timelines. Why ? I don't know.

@@beverlyposey7130 it's a time paradox. If Boyd doesn't save Julie, Julie can't later go back in time and save Boyd by throwing the rope at him. If Julie doesn't save Boyd, Boyd can't destroy the music box and save Julie. If Boyd doesn't save Julie, Julie can't throw him the rope. :)

I guess I got the meaning of the Boy in White's story that he told Christopher! This is of course only my theory, but listen: Fromville is created by children's imaginations. "The answers to the end are at the beginning". Remember how the show began? With the Jim, Tabitha, Julie and Ethan going on the that family trip. (Yes, I know it began with Boyd and the town, but the first scene of Mattews family is this one). "It started with the children". Who's the child? Correct, it's Ethan. What does Ethan likes? Fantasy books with adventure stories. "The people that the children trusted, actually ended up murdering them". This can be understood figuratively or literally. Figuratively - Ethan feels very bad ("de*d") because the people he trusted, his parents, are getting a divorce. And he does not want that. "But not before those who loved them told them a story, and that story gave them hope". Julie tells him a story. That is literally the first scene with them. And in her story, the main character dies. But then Tabitha is giving him hope making story more positive by saying that monsters do not exist therefore they can't kill. So my guess is that Ethan kinda creates a world in his head (or not really in his head) where his family is forced to stay together because, well, they can't escape. And so did other kids that were "killed" in similar circumstances. And different kinds of monsters and ghosts (vendigo kind of night monsters, kimono lady, etc) can be explained by Kids liking different kinds of stories. P.S. It was because he was on the changing table, the phone rang and for a second they looked away and the baby fell.. It seems they are setting up Acosta to be Eloise. What other reason could there be for not revealing her first name yet? No one else goes by their last name. Now that time shifting/travel/loops have been canonically introduced, there is no reason she couldn’t have been transported to the future or past in Camden, Maine (not on her intended timeline since she doesn’t look as old as Victor) and is now reappearing due to some reason to help her brother.

just commented this on another video but the most recent episode had one of the kids say "anhkooey" slightly off and along with the time travel bit it made me think that what they are actually saying is "aunt julie". I think julie is the storyteller that eventually gives the children hope, echoing the very first scene of the series with her and Ethan in the RV.

I believe elgin is trying to help fatima, it clearly pains him to do this to her. But he BELIEVES he's doing the best thing for her. Personally, I believe that, instead of becoming a monster to replace smiley, i think she's to give birth to him to bring him back, or at the very least replace him. How does this help fatima? Reason he does it : he does not give af about Fatima he just believes what the ghost lady said / or is curious. Pretty clear. My favorite kind of theorizing people. People who theorize about nothing important (wether Elgin gives af about Fatima or not) ignoring what we know : he is being told he can save everyone and shown polaroid for what to do next. So no, he's not trying to help Fatima, and he doesn't believe it's best for her.

I totally think you're right about Martin.. After thinking about it, I think Mariella, Randall, and Julie did astral projection when their eyes went white and we saw them being tortured in that dungeon, screaming. I think the same thing happened this time with Julie. She probably astral projected to the dungeon and was able to physically interact with the environment. It explains the white eyes and seizure that happened in front of Ethan.

We need to talk about American Gods by Neil Gamian- In that novel, there's a story of a child that was born at night, never allowed to see the sun and eventually sacrificed to the old gods in exchange for prosperity. His blackened bones were made into a totem the village erected. It's the same as the totems near the cabins- and there were seven Ankoowie kids when they swarmed Tabby in season two but i think there's only six now....since they took down that totem thing.

Hello E-Man. Greetings from Germany. You are doing a damn good job! I love your breakdowns. I watched episode 8 on Paramout+ Canada. One curious detail is that the intro took place twice. So I wondered why there was a repetition. Was that an oversight or was it intentional? Was it a hint? So I started thinking about the connections between the intro and the revelations we learnt in episode 8. In this episode in particular, we learnt that the end lies in the beginning. Could this explain the name "From"? "From" because we have to go the beginning? The Boy in White told Christopher that the kids were murdered in the dark by their loved ones. So it's about a parent-child relationship. If you listen to the title song, it's also about parents and children. There’s one major difference to the original version by Doris Day. Doris Day sings about a mother-daughter relationship. The Pixies, on the other hand, sing about a father-son relationship. But who’s the son who asked his father and who will be asked by his children of his own? Is it about Martin? Or is it about Henry and Jim? Both had a difficult childhood with a father who was a drinker. Both therefore vowed to be a better father to their children. But both struggled to be a good father and husband and broke their promises. The song is also about fate, which influences your life without you being able to influence it (“Whatever will be, will be”) because we can’t see into the future. Do we need to be saved from our fate by a saviour or chosen one? By Christopher or Jade? And this is an eternal cycle. Children ask their parents. And when they grow up, they are asked by their children. And then the cycle starts all over again. That reminds me of season 1, when Tabitha was digging in the basement. When she went up the stairs, she suddenly found herself in the spiral staircase of the lighthouse. There were toys on the floor and the years were engraved on the steps. The same years as in the bottles? Is the spiral staircase and the engraved years a symbol for an eternal cycle? The toys on the floor symbol the children? Speaking of the lighthouse. Today we learnt that the kids were murdered in the dark. A lighthouse brings light into the darkness and also provides guidance. Not only guidance for seafarers. It’s a typical symbol for guidance at all. The saviour or the chosen one must lead the children out of the darkness into the light? The light of the lighthouse can be seen from great distances. Otherwise, the lighthouse keeper can also see things that are far away. Instead of “The future's not ours to see“, the light of the lighthouse provides the children a glimpse into their own future? Is it about parents having to guide their children? To lead them out of the darkness and into the light? If you don't do that, are the children afraid for their future and so they will be figuratively murdered because they were betrayed and left alone by their loved ones? And the monsters in the darkness are the manifestation of their fears? And what’s about Tabitha’s nightmares as a child?
