Kabab, Could you also ask them why not use F7? Same as with previous magnum that came with F3 when we all started using F4. I would have had bought their magnum stack back then but it was F3. I root for emax since I started with RC in general (fpw wings like 3 years ago or more) as they were producing some good motors back then but this feels like they are missing the train really

It was discussed. Use the time stamps in the description of the betaflight video. Also, the magnum doesn't have f7 because it's not the standard and doesn't do anything. The ButterFlight solution is superior and it just came out.

I have had the same issue with that magnum stack. Everything worked but i was getting the gray screen of death. I got a replacement VTX, the same on and still it doesn't work. I have tried everything. Oddly has power and everything. My guess is the stack is toast somewhere else. Kind of sad for $110.

That was really intense other than the flying and the review is great but the butterflight I'm not sold on that my 3.2.1 still flies 10 times better people are just getting too lazy and wanting the quad to do everything for them rather than have consistency they just follow the hype and never progress all the good Pilots like yourself are usually on the same firmware with a quad that flies consistency the same. With that said for somebody that hasn't flown betaflight or any other firmware this would be a good starting point cuz they wouldn't have to do anything and just fly. So I give them props for that 👊😍 great job Bob fist pump 👊😜

I'm pretty sure other than giving the kalman filter as an option and a small extra smart audio option/fix, butterflight is still a pure fork of betaflight and will fly identically unless you are using the kalman. If your not using the kalman then you just falling for butterhype.

I always recommend building it yourself. Even if you buy a hawk 5, I highly recommend you be capable of building it yourself. It's not difficult after you've done one or two.

The magnum is a piece of u know what. As are emax bullet escs! I lost 5 bullets in 5 flights, and Tom Smith managed less than 45 seconds with the magnum. Stay well clear!

The frame on that thing is a beast. It seems to handle the concrete and tree strikes very well. I ordered 8 arms and 4 motors so I think I'm good for a long while. The motor protection is good and the LS motors are durable and serviceable.

I did but after I had already made this video it got better still. While at the moment beta and butter are very similar, the default recommend settings for butter seems to be better for at least my quads. So it works a bit better.

I'd say it's a toss up really. The hawk has more standard and common components and bigger motors. The Oblivion may be more reliable and has an interesting frame. Hawk is cheaper...

Yeah but it's the preferred race setup by most. Couple reasons for that. I feel batt on top is better in every way except crashing. You definitely destroy more batteries on top and seldom land upright after a tumble.

so i ve got this quad and i must say it flies like crap with butterflight 3.4.2 (q and r are set to cutoff freq around 100hz, gyro lpf1 =0), i had hard time tuning propwash at rapid descends and hard maneuvers . with betaflight 3.3.0 it flies ok with a single lpf stage2 (btw stock pids are quite well tuned, but i bumped a bit P on roll and pitch ~5). some of my quads fly better with butterflight, some not (but all with 8k mode). you have to try both.

I tried betaflight and butterflight on it. Butter flew significantly better for me. I didn't change anything at all from stock butterflight of when I made this video. I didn't even turn on FKF at the time of recording. I wanna ask you to try something and see what happens. Strap the battery to the top. Just as a test...lemme know what you find.

Should i replace the stock motors with emax rsii 2306 2400kv? Will it reduce my flight time which i usually use 1300mah? Reason for swapping is the shaft aluminium is weak. I need the titanium shafts. I wont use a gopro either. Should i use the rsii2206 2300kv. I just want the titanium shaft.

Really depends on your budget. The rsii 2306 is awesome. But if you're not super skilled or don't want to spend the money, you'll be just as happy with the $10 RCX LS2207

Kabab FPV money is not an issue. But comparing the rsii 2206 vs rsii 2306 i dont want to lose flight time but want the shaft strength. I stripped the stock litespec 2206 just by screwing the nut on too tight. Im assuming the 2306 will use more power but give more power yes? Im happy with the 2206 power as i dont carry any cameras or 1500mah 4s. Only 1300mah. Rsii 2206 should suffice for my needs?

Jan Domingo if you're looking for flight time, it doesn't really get better than the tmotor 5143. For overall performance including durability, you'll probably like the HQ 5m1x4.6x3 a lot.

To start out, I would recommend getting just a controller and using a simulator on a computer. It's by far the most effective and cost efficient way to go. Look up the Taranis QX7

The higher oversampling rate makes the filtering delay in the fast kalman implementation far less overall, but being able to achieve a higher effective SNR of perturbations and responding to them at 8kHz (which is still about half a prop rotation or less) output baud (realistically it takes quite a few PID out cycles to actually make a meaningful change in prop RPM) is still awesome, so if it works on that setup: rock on.

Hard to decide between the two. The Hawk 5 is good however I'm not a fan of the motors. But a beginner isn't gonna care nor does it matter to them. The stack in the Hawk 5 is good but I dunno if it's as reliable as the TBS stack however the TBS stack is less common...I'm not sure that really matters. The Oblivion has even smaller 2205 motors I believe but again, it doesn't really matter. The motors need banana plugs which can be annoying but I'm sure you could solder motors directly into the stack too. The Oblivion has an awesome new frame style but the Hawk 5 has a tried and true frame design and setup that we know works well. The Oblivion is $50 more. If they were the same price, I think I would personally go with the Oblivion because I trust TBS more. As they are now, it's really a toss-up. Which company do you like better...go with that one.

ButterFlight works just like betaflight. You just download the configurator and you can flash any board in the list...which is the same boards as the betaflight list.

Fly safe, stay away from people, find secluded areas. Nothing else you can do. I keep flying in my two spots because everyone knows me and I fly when nobody is around. I leave when people or dogs show up. It's unfortunate but it's all I've got in my city.
