I took an accounting law course in college. If I remember right, the reason blockbuster turned down Netflix was because it had plans to make its own streaming platform partnered with ‘large, stable and successful company’ Enron in a 20 year contract signed in 2000. And as you see in the video, 2001 Enron was a bit of an issue. This made blockbuster fall behind in R&D and funding.

Enron was never the 7th largest company in America - only in share price because they were valuing the company on the basis of fraudulent accounting. Actually it was closer to the 350th largest. And Sharon Watkins never went public until after the newspapers found out - she only wrote an internal memo and then carried on life as normal. But yes she has certainly tried to take credit - looks better than ‘I played along for several months’

The fact that i live in the state that nobody remembers unless they are thinking about the Seattle Seahawks is awesome. Every time this channel puts markers all across the country, there has never been one on Washington (the state, not the city). Ik nobody cares, so i don’t care about what other think. The golden rule, treat people how you want to be treated has been applied. If the people of the world don’t care about how i feel or what i think, i won’t care about how the people of the world feel or what they think.

Well, many decisions are right at the time, even if they turn out to be a huge mistake. But that's hindsight. And many companies just revolve around a specific product or service, and when that service isn't in demand anymore, the company goes bankrupt. I mean, that's just how the world works; that's not a flaw.

@Peter Lemonjello On the contrary, much of their films have some noteworthy reviews. They made a couple hit nature documentaries that were comparable to BBC's. Some of their dramas have also garnered lots of attention. As a business, they have weaned off their complete dependence on OTHER film studios and hollywood filmmakers who dictate licensing prices and can easily withhold their films from netflix (as what Disney is currently doing), and future-proofing themselves by spending billions in film-making, currently being the highest investor in the world on films. All that, not for you to just complain about garbage. There surely is a process of improvement along the way, and 90% of films int he world aren't your kind of thing anyway. What Kodak did wrong wasn't about changing from film to digital. They did well enough in digital camera market (even had more digital camera market share than Canon in US back in mid-2000). But they didn't actually focus on digital camera but instead on photo printing. They thought no matter you use digital or film, either kodak camera or other brands. You will eventually end up printing those photo, which (they thought) you will come for Kodak services. But guess what: people no longer print their photo. especially when smartphone and social network become a thing.

I was an owner of a vehicle with the faulty airbags and here's what happened: My vehicle was newly purchased at the time but thankfully they tracked the vin to determine that my car received the airbags. I received a letter in the mail from the maker of the car requesting I have the vehicle serviced or scheduled for service ASAP. Once done it was good. Idk if they still send the letters out but if the seller/previous owner of the vehicle was smart, they already took care of the issue. Also, it was completely free to have done but this was immediately after the issue became known so I can't say what they would do today. But I like to think there aren't that many cars with this product on the road.

The number one case where the executive in charge got put in jail for life, is a rarity in the U.S. In our runaway capitalist society, executives can do anything and they rarely if ever face the music. Usually they pay/force some lower lever guy to take the fall !!!

Coca Cola Corp tried to launch a filtered bottled tap water in the UK which I call Sidcup Tap but they called Desiani. The net result was they blew a small fortune on marketing the tap water in the UK. The whole busness was a total abject failure not on the scale of New and Classic coke but a considerable amount of money was wasted.

The virgin cola one is actually sad, consumers preferred it over coke and it had a fair shot to be in markets. Sad that coke just threw money at their “problem” to make them go away. It really isn’t fair.

Sears. They had pioneered home delivery of a vast array of goods over 100 years ago. Little more than 15 years ago Amazon was a book seller. While Sears is busy shuttering stores, Amazon took off like a rocket. I think Radio Shack missed a golden opportunity to take over where Sharper Image left off. SI offered unique products and lots of fun stuff. Tons of foot traffic. Instead, RS decided to be a cell phone store.

The airbag defect killed my friend Kylan Langlinais in April 2016. She left her phone at a party and drove back to get it. She never made it. They found her honda in a ditch several hours later. The metal bits from the airbag severed her carotid artery and she was left to bleed out with no way to get help. Her family received the airbag recall in the mail two days after Kylans crash. The family is still in a legal battle with Honda. Kylans Instagram remains a memorial if anyone would like leave encouraging words on her profile for family and friends. @firedr3d

I never had a good Schlitz, but there was a warning about this beer. Drink a lot of it and you get the Schlitz schitz. Budweiser’s just as bad it’s beer for people who don’t like beer. In addition to barley malt they use rice and corn. The corn when it’s boiled in the brewing process it turns to corn syrup that makes the beer sweet and takes away most of the flavor of the hops. There are so many small craft breweries selling fresh delicious beer, you don’t have to drink at the brew pub, you can take home in jugs called growlers. If you like Budweiser and don’t like other beers it’s probably because of the corn sugar. Go to one of the local breweries and try one of their a flavored beer that type is generally a little sweeter. Life’s too short to drink bad beer.

4:16 To add insult to injury, film and physical photos are coming back. Like tube amplifiers, film gives the photos a specific character that is pretty much impossible to replicate using digital cameras and there is a growing market of people liking this and willing to shell $$$ for it.
