This Ask Teal Episode on Embarrassment outlines what being embarrassed is about on a deep level. Teal Swan explains the difference between embarrassment and shame. When you are embarrassed you are simply trying to hide something from others about yourself. When you are in shame, you are also rejecting this thing you are trying to hide from others within yourself. This video on embarrassment will help you understand and transform your embarrassment.

I don't know who you are. But you've seriously changed my entire life. I lost my fiancé a month ago and I didn't know how to process it or how to effectively use it as a lesson to grow from. After listening to you twice a day I'm already becoming a better man for myself and others around me. Thank you!

Ironically, I feel embarrassed about the day I met Teal because I said something dumb out of nerves then my daughter told her that I was her biggest fan and I was like “oh great, now she’ll think I’m some stalker or something ” and spent the rest of the night beating up on myself that this person I admire thinks that I’m a weirdo rather than appreciating the interaction. Our thoughts can cause us so much unnecessary unhappiness sometimes lol 🤭😳😅

I know how you feel, I am infamous for making a complete ass of myself in front of people I have a crush on or highly admire. It’s like the awkward dork in me suddenly takes over, and my right mind and wits are completely thrown out the window. I hate that. It’s like d’oh.

I think it’s adorable to get flustered like that however be careful when becoming the biggest fan of a spiritual teacher. A student yes but a fan ? I made the same mistake and it is a weird balance. I feel healthier by loving the message but just being a student of the messenger.

Usually I confirm with the things that Teal says but you can also be embarrassed about yourself to yourself. For example when you realise that you let others treat you like shit for a long time and then you feel sorry that you let other people do that. You feel embarrassed that you let that happen to yourself. You didn't protect yourself. I feel this at the moment.

I am glad that you mentioned the differences between not only embarrassment and shame but also social anxiety. I am quite awkward when it comes to social situations. There have been times where I felt "embarrassed" getting praised at work for doing a good job while every one of my co-workers had their eyes on me. Thank you for reaching out to us, Teal. I'm in my early 30s and never had the courage ask someone out much less go on a date or form a romantic relationship as an adult. I've convinced myself that, from a societal perspective, this single fact would disqualify me as both an adult and a man. If my co workers or any other sizeable group of people I have to interact with found out about this, I would probably have a nervous breakdown, immediately quit my job and move to another state due to the shame associated.

This is interesting. I’m a biological woman and I present in a masculine way, but I identify as female. I feel most comfortable going into the bathrooms designated for women. I’ve always felt embarrassed going into the restroom because I almost always received negative attention and disapproval. I made the decision a few months ago to own how I look and to know that I belong in that bathroom. Since then I have had zero uncomfortable or negative interactions in public restrooms. I simply don’t care anymore how people will respond. I was afraid of social consequences before. Now I’m not worried about it.

Thought you might enjoy this vibration. I've been following you since 2013. I can't really afford the premium content or seminars but I have to tell you, you truly are a catalyst. That was a completely accurate term/description. You have changed the way I see things on so many subjects. You literally are responsible for a movement. I totally get you. Your connection to infinite intelligence is unfettered and constant. Yet you are young and beautiful and you want the world to see you. You're a modern day prophet. I guess other people expect you to live like a monk. They cant understand that you are a walking, conscious channeler/interpreter of energy and nonphysical 24 hours a day and still be a sensuous girl with pizazz and as much love for the cameras as the cameras have for you? No big deal! Your insights are life changing and I celebrate your personality. Teal, your brand has grown so much since I came across you and it will not stop. This vid came at right time for me! I‘be been living at home with my loving MOTHER for a year now and it’s definitely embarrassing. Especially after living on my own and running my own business for over 6 years... I did that all b/c I wanted to be independent and the truth is, I needed clients and had to rely on partnering with consultants... so, we can’t REALLY be 100% independent. I was dependent when I lived alone and after business temporarily went south, I’m dependent living with my MOM! Haha!!! And I’m LUCKY AF to have her and have some protection as I make my business 1,000% BETTER ✌🏼✌🏼✌🏼 Mommas boy signing out!🤣

Man, that could happen to every body, you're a man of bussines, and this things some times happen, just keep trying and learn from your mistakens, you're trying to do something, and that's the reason of your fail. If you wasn't trying you couldn't fail. so feel pride of your experience and keep working. Good luck to the next and keep learning.

I feel shame and embarrassed about feeling shame and embarrasment. I find it embarrassing and shameful that I need to watch this video to understand myself and the world better. I ought to know this naturally. Others will look at me like "haha look at this weirdo watching weird videos because he doesn't know how life works". I am ashamed that I'm not naturally a man who's already mastered these issues. I'm ashamed of not being good enough. Also I've been holding on to those feelings for probably 20 years now. Phew!

I have to admit that I have been struggling embarrassment for walking in front of my neighbours because I thought that they were too intimidating, but I have realised that they are actually vulnerable and They just give those deadly glances because they want to hide some parts of them with this badass attitude. Now I'm more open when I walk in front of them. I feel like if I were in a movie where I discovered the true selves behind their masks. I'm still on my process, but so far I feel better. Thank you, Teal!

It is no longer important if someone likes me or not i accept both. I have peace. What is important is thst i forgive and am kind to me and tell myself i have great worth.

I’ve felt embarrassed up to now which I am 24 about my own existence because of my trauma in childhood. For some reason I processed my mom constantly making fun of me for singing and playing piano, for having panic attacks, for crying, for reading spiritus texts… you name it… in a very odd and unique way. Mostly she and my older sister made fun of me and I became so velcroed to the outer environment perceiving every person as a threat and became so self conscious it made me so awkward to just walk in front of people. It was and is still hard to overcome. Nobody knows this pain until you deal with it. I am so glad this is my path because I’m far more consicous than them and intend to heal more of our family line.

Very much so to all of this. Despite that any embarrassment is past tense or not, Everyone else has done the same things in some way or another. Furthermore that those who are the most moved about another ones embarrassments, are they themselves the most embarrassed about something or another.

Teal, you have hit the nail on the head again. You are a genius! You mentioned practicing self-empathy. My experience with some major snafus was to finally see that I belong to the human race. ie, Everyone makes some really embarrassing mistakes. once in high school. A girl dropped a drink in the hallway. I knew she was embarrassed. I went straight to the bathroom and got some paper towels, came back and helped her clean it up. I’m proud of myself for that act of kindness to clean up with her so she didn’t feel like a spectacle all by herself. I’m sure she remembered and appreciated that for a long time. When she signed my yearbook, it was the first thing she mentioned, and said she will never forget it. wow.

Just learn to laugh at yourself! (See #4 @16:15) I’ve been through some horrendous and hauntingly embarrassing things. But I think now, that when the memory comes up- having the humility to be able to laugh at it seems to be a bigger lesson in itself and allows me to let go of it some, and grow stronger because of it. It allows one to find humor and lightness in the mannerisms that caused such embarrassment and allows the opportunity to make peace or self-correct in the future. Thanks Teal, friend! 💙💚

I know this all too well. In my youth I had a small incontinence problem until my 18th. I never dared to tell anyone that I was leaking quickly, even with parents. I just lived from day to day. I was always trying to hide everything from it. That way it spoils part of your youth. Seems like a small problem for others but it is a huge problem at schools for children. It has a huge impact.

Teal why does it seem like no soul wants to be on the other side? We all want to incarnate so bad, is it impossible to have a learning or bonding experience on the "other side" do we wipe our memories just to enjoy being in the unknown? Is God, are we essentially bored af over there. I had imagined what you create there happens instantly, does that make it boring to total consciousness. Is it truly impossible for us gods to learn anything about ourselves without incarnation. Am I real

Think it is better to not describe people as alcoholics, as we are labelling that person, and people are not the 'label.' Not being pedantic, it makes sense, and allows a person a far greater chance of recovery, because they don't see the alcoholism as part of them!

I feel embarrassed a child of a very famous man replied to my tweet that I have a low iq. I want to delete twitter now. But it was actually good for me. I forgot how ashamed I am.

I want to be liked and accepted and yet I do not get embarrassed. I have taken this as a good thing as I have read this is an ego expression but I can see how I am not accepted by society and that groups of other people have a hard time understanding me or liking me. I do not endear myself to others by being embarrassed to the point where I have faked embarrassment to be liked. I have no idea why, I also have no "disgust" as like the character in Inside Out. I don't think many things are gross, and I have a hard time discerning what behaviors will have social consequences. I wonder why I don't have this, I feel like a part of my brain is broken. Usually I have good survival skills but this is not an area where I can fit in naturally. I can see how embarrassment is like a rudder for social survival and I do not have it. I had very neglectful parents, I wonder if this is why.?

Lol embarrassing things happen to me a lot. It's ironic and hilarious at times. Other times it's a shameful judging from within. But I just tell myself it's ok.
