Yes! Baby is a trash magnet. Her favorite “toy” is a straw. That’s our go to distraction at restaurants, and she’ll carry that thing around for hours, even falling asleep with it 🥺

Ooo that’s a great idea at restaurants!

I second the Avanchy plate recommendation! My little serial plate flipper hasn't been able to get it off the table once and we've had it for months now. I picked one up after seeing you mention it in an earlier video and it's been amazing, so thank you!

My baby’s only 3 months, but I loved all of these tips! Also, I can’t believe he’s walking already! I’ve been following since he was a newborn. 😌

I needed these hacks today. The diaper change hack is perfect - defiantly will be using that one. The snack cups don't work for us though - Alex quickly figured out he can hold the flaps down with one hand and shake it around upside down to get all the snacks out, lol. Great idea with the mirror as well - I'll have to see if there's a way to turn the one I have vertical. The garbage is so true. Alex has been playing with a rusk wrapper for two days now (supervised). We also give him the plastic apple juice containers once the apple juice is gone and he loves trying to rip the wrapper off. I also love that you share "little" hacks - so often I just see stuff about big hacks that don't really apply to everyday life, but yours are always perfect for whatever stage Alex (and I) are in.

I agree with trash as toys lol. My daughter loves playing with an empty wipes pack bc its crinkly. She has also been playing with a catalog we got in the mail since yesterday like it's her new favorite toy 😅

Great video! I find that’s rare with hack videos. I can’t wait to try out the bib smock thing and the car seat mirror vertical. I’ve done the trash thing lol. He loves my empty water bottles 😂 thanks for the tips!

I know for me personally we live on a dirt road and have 3 dogs, there are days we don't get to clean our floors at all and they grt dirty at times. I might personally prefer shoes at times for this reason! But you're not wrong!

At what age did you start giving Rook snacks? Feeding feels so complicated to me haha, I give my 10 mo 3 meals a day but just nurse him any other time in between that he gets hungry.. I wonder if I should be offering more real food instead? (He def eats a ton during meals and sometimes takes seconds so I'm not underfeeding him with that)

Maybe pacifier clip attached to spoon then clipped to a sleeve to keep the spoon from being thrown on the floor 😂 will have to test

Ooh that diaper one is a good one! I’m going to try it. Trying to get all the wipes in and get it closed + wiggly babe = bathroom activity #2 on the hands (most of the time haha) 🤣

But why use regular diapers when you can get the "pants" version? I just rip them off from the sides while he's standing and then letting him lean onto something when I pull them up like regular pants. I guess the pants are not as popular overseas, but where I live, the kids movie into diaper pants pretty much as soon as they start eating any solids and move around a lot, so usually from ~6 months

Took me a bit to figure out who you were reminding me of, but finally came to me about a third of the way through the video. You kinda look like Danica McKellar that was in "The Wonder Years" ...also be careful with the "Dissolving" snacks. I tried to find the video to link it, couldn't find it, but there's a video of a baby choking story on KZbin I came across about a year or so ago. The dad had called 911 after he gave his toddler a cup with some of the "dissolving" snacks, stepped a way for a few minutes to do something and when he turned around again the baby was choking. They found out was that the snacks were a bit past the expiration date and turns out the particular brand of "dissolving" snacks changes over time and the texture of the snack becomes kind of mushy/clumpy rather that fully dissolving. I wish I could remember the brand or find the video, but the dissolving snacks in the video were the larger kind not the tiny star-shaped ones, and I think they came in a yellow container.

Why don't you want him to fall asleep on car rides?
@AshleyEmbers3 жыл бұрын
Because usually the drive is short (30 mins) and at this age he won’t transfer to the crib. If I keep him awake then he’ll take a 2 hour nap at home 😊
