I like that Trek is staying with the removable battery platform - that's crucial for us frozen climate emtb'ers
@daver21562 ай бұрын
I have to say.. i remember when I had my first emtb when they first came out.. there were a some interview with Santa Cruz.. they quoted that they weren't interested in ebikes and they would never produce one.. funny how things change 😂😂😂

To reduce weight, I remove the battery on my Trek Rail 5 before hanging bike on my Allen bike rack. Removable battery is a big plus for me.

We buy Santa Cruz for the VPP feel!!! And of course their superb after sales service. I have a 2022 Bronson.

A 600 battery on a full power emtb is too small, and it's a pain to ride with a battery extender (lose your bottle cage). I have a Bullitt and I often struggle with range and/or keeping up with with other emtbs when I'm forced to ride on lower power settings. Sadly, an EP801 and small battery makes for a hugely compromised bike.

I can’t help but listen to all the Santa Cruz talk n think….. yea but the Amflow!
@sgtkurry2 ай бұрын
Im with you. The amflow is a better value, lighter and more powerful. Suspension performance might be slightly lacking but you have a lot of room to make improvements and still be under the weight of the santa cruz.

You people or lucky to have it available. Us US customers are getting shafted on both the aglow and pinion front.

The Vala is available now. The Amflow will be available in ???? I have been riding ebikes for only 2 years but I have found I really do not need more power for what I do, I need good power delivery and range. The Bosch Gen-5 will provide good power delivery and the Vala with the extender will provide the range. And it is available in the US and available now.

If they do S at 2 x 27.5; why can't they do XXL at 2 x 29? I am 6'4" and prefer full 29.

Lots of beautiful emtb, but i chose a 2022 year Trek Rail 5. There are 3 Trek dealers in my Atlanta area that will honor warranty without too much wait. BTW i never had any warranty issues. I only replaced chain and sprocket and i now hot wax chain for long life...please do not use wet lubes on your ebike chain.

Can't find any of the news in North America Trek. Not as a dealer or for the public. Strange...

I was saying the same thing. If you look on their GB website, it's all updated with the new PowerFly.

I am looking at purchasing a Vala right now. I am not buying it because it is a Santa Cruz, I am buying it because my bike shop carries Santa Cruz. I buy a bike shop, not a brand. I want a good brand (many of those) from a good shop (fewer of those). I look at what brands my shop carries and I select my new bike from those. The people at the shop know me, they have ridden with me, they know how I ride. From that they make suggestions as to what I would like as far as geometry, suspension travel, etc. This makes it a heck of a lot easier to choose what bikes I should look at.

Only downside from bosch is the battery layout, how hard is to show 10 lines. Just for the peace on mind.

New Santa Cruz looks very similar to the Trek Rail. Maybe just because they went with a Horst Link…

I run mudguards front and rear when the weather's grim. Not fussed about looking cool or not, having mud being flung at the back of your head is not cool. When you're sat on the bike you cant see the back mudguard anyway ;)

New Rail looks good, but absolutely no reason to change my gen 4 Carbon Rail. It will be great if Bosch makes a new lighter battery for gen 4... but this will not happen, unfortunately. The most interesting thing on new Bosch gen 5 is new purion 400... hopefully, this will be compatible with gen 4 motor.

Gen 5 Rail is ugly compared to gen 4 tbh. Also they use bosch motor is basically same motor with 100 gram less and fatter powertube. So far meh imo, also they created the sag like frame and downtube which takes away Trek rails agressive look. Was looking to sell my gen 4 carbon rail for the new one. Ill just keep it i think
