Thanks for this - took a bit to figure out how to match your process to a similar but not quite exact same application - embossing a logo into a sphere. Duker's tips in comments helped - last thing that made it work for me was backing up the flange body 0.01 from the face of the single-curved body face, so it was completely inside. Don't know if it being contained inside when combining was the thing, or slightly different curve tangent like Duker describes - not sure I understood/understand that part, but fiddling and trying it over and over got it there eventually.

It's a wonderful technique, but using it to precisely place a feature was a bit finicky. Here are some lessons learned: The flange needs to be longer than the curve that gets embossed, else it errors. A custom sheet metal rule with a k-factor of 1 makes the outer curve predictable length The flange curve needs to be exactly tangential to the target sphere for exact precision, but it can't be, because then the refold errors for whatever reason. Make it 0.01mm smaller (or even less if you willing to fiddle with it, I think 0.001 was too close) The straight section of the folding flange will inevitably stick out of the sphere doing this, but easy enough to deal with as long as you don't forget it

Thanks for the tips! I was struggling to emboss text on a cone shape and couldn't get it working because It hasn't a tangent face. I finally managed to get it rigth.

Thanks. 👍 Also, KZbin's "Search" does not show this video when using various specific "Search" criteria. I've noticed this failure on several occasions only with Fusion 360 creators/channels that are not located within the US. Unfortunately, I do not know why "Search" is failing. 😃

Bạn là bậc thầy fusion 360 :). Cho tôi hỏi tại sao phiên bản fusion 360 của tôi lại không có Emboss vậy

A brilliant method mate! I'm constantly amazed at the many methods of doing a job like this in fusion 360. Your method is among of the easiest though. Happy3dmodeling Greg
